Rocky Mountain Oils is a comany that has merged with Native American Nutritionals. The quality of the oils are expressed throughout many different Internet sites, blogs, fb group, most importantly, forums and completely unbiased sites.

The lavender bulgaria has a bold aroma, more of the herbaceous tones, a tiny bit like I describe licorice, HOWEVER, It doesn't smell like licorice does that make sense? Hard to describe aromas, it's very subjective , but when I read reviews trying to decide about an EO, I look for descriptions of the actual aroma, not just what it may help with. In summary, this is a wonderful choice for true lavender lovers. The hungary lavender variety is just as good- the difference being more of a sweeter aroma-not at all sickly sweet by any means- just a bit different. I would recommend the hungary for users who are apprehensive of lavender, simply because they haven't experienced true quality lavender. This lavender is for lavender connoisseurs, as I see it.

My main use is via diffuser. I always keep my expectations low or actually I try not to focus on what the effects might be, that way it was completely random and unexpected the other day that I was falling asleep in the middle or the late afternoon while my son and me were having after play quiet time in my room. I take a perscribed stimulant for ADD I - it is not common for me to get so relaxed or even sleepy untill the medicine has worn off at nighttime. I was shocked, literally. In a good way, ofcourse. I diffuse this every night, there is no doubt about the top quality. It left absolutely no spot or stain behind when placed on paper overnight. It is not a full proof purity test, as the case with resinous oils and other exceptions.

Why is one star taken??? Here is why, and it's VERY IMPORTANT, !!!! Although not a deal breaker because of the top quality for reasonable, legitimate prices, the dropper top is a major issue. I have to remove them and replace it from an empty different brand orifice reducer. This is an absolute MUST. I recommend getting some new, they are easily found on amazon. Either way, when you go to DROP a few drops in your diffuser, the precious oil WILL gush out all from under every crevice of the "orifice reducer." So that is extremely important to take care of before half the bottle is gone in a few weeks. Although this is an extremely important issue to know about, It is by no means a deal breaker considering the quality along with the price. I do use other brands, like PT. After using both lavender hungary (purchased full price) and now the lavender Bulgaria, I will not be using any other lavender but RMO.

UPDATE 7-24-18 : my current bottle has no issues with the orifice reducer. It doesn't leak at all. I am confident that RMO corrected their orifice reducers , as it has been about a year since I originally typed this review. I'm updating to 5 stars. This oil made me extremely tired when it was in my diffuser directly next to me on my night stand . But I always try to not expect anything.

I have purchased alot of essential oils from Rocky Mountain Oils; they are a quality company and sell quality products. Not all essential oils are created equal. They offer GC/MS test results (Gas Chromatography/Mass Spectrometry) from an independent lab for all of their essential oil products to verify their authenticity. This is a big deal today with so many essential oils on the market.
Their website is enlightening; they have the lab results, information on the benefits of each essential oil and the extraction method, country of origin, botanical name, aroma, what it blends with.... well you get the idea! If you want to learn about oils, start here! They also have some recipes and customer reviews for each oil. And their prices are far more manageable than the multi-level marketing companies (who have to get the $$ to pay all those levels somewhere). I started with a MLM company and moved on once I realized how much benefit essential oils offered.
All that said, lavender is one of my go to oils. It promotes healing for many skin issues (scars, bruises, burns) and is always on hand in my kitchen. It's also very soothing to me and I diffuse it (especially after I cook something with strong odors like broccoli or fish (not the 'yummy, what's cooking' smell!). I ran out and needed a bottle quickly to travel with so I turned to Amazon (as I do time and time again!). I'm so glad that they carry Rocky Mountain Oils!!

Essential Oil of Lavender is Worth It's Weight in Gold!

I have used essential oils (must be verified as pure and therapeutic) for about 5 years. Any issues that can be handled with essential oils are always better than chemicals. My daughter used the Lavender in a mister in her family's bedrooms. My son-in-law said he didn't know what she had done, but he hadn't rested so well in a very long time. I used the Lavender oil for a nail fungus in one of my toenails. If put a couple of drops on it 2 times a day. As the nail grows out and I am trimming off the thickened parts the fungus is disappearing. I had tried several over-the counter treatments and asked my doctor about prescription treatments. I used the lavender oil on my toenail for approximately 3 months and will probably be completely free of the fungus within another month.

scent fades quickly

not an overpowering scent, in the mid range on strength which i like. it is on the extra thin side though and rubbing it on wrist left a nice mild floral scent which unfortunately disappeared within minutes. I don't dislike this brand, i do like the scent somewhat but, i kinda expected an oil to leave a scent on my skin for a lot longer than this oil did, all three times i used it, the scent faded too quickly for my liking. Since i bought this to also use it in a DIY face cream, the scent fading is not that big of an issue for that but, i probably will look elsewhere for a better lavender oil next time around.

update: i ended up buying a 5ml bottle of young living (supposably a top brand) lavender to compare with rocky's, YL has more stronger, cleaner smelling and has a better smelling pure lavender scent that lingers. i put a drop of YL on wrist and a drop of Rocky above it and rocky scent dissipated whithin 5 minutes and YL is still lingering almost an hour later. I would lower my rating to 3 stars but, rocky is still a better brand than most, just not a top quality brand like YL.
