5.0 out of 5 stars Very Satisfied with These Rocky Mounts
By adam86mo on July 19, 2016
Very Happy with these mounts! I installed them on my 2016 Toyota Tundra's factory rail system, in about 5 minutes each. They are very simple to use and handy. The mounts are very sturdy on long trips, and require no additional support to hold your bike. They definitely add a level of difficulty to any would-be thief. Note that no matter what you do to secure your bike to your truck, someone with enough time can steal it, so smart choices are the #1 line of defense.

Tips:
-Switch out the torx bolts for security torx and add lock-tite for an even more secure mount.
-It is possible to unthread the locking axle, even when locked, but to prevent this, I simply tightened the axle as much as possible, and then rotated the handle so it was tight against my truck rail. The handle would then hit the rail and could not be loosened anymore than 1/8 of a turn.
-Still use a cable lock run through your trucks tie-down loops if worried about theft

Pros:
Quick Install
Great Value
Very sturdy
Easily modified to be more secure

Cons:
Not 100% theft-proof, but easily modified to be more secure (does add a level of security that I find acceptable for the money. Still highly recommend)

5.0 out of 5 stars Rock Solid
By I. Amsam on February 6, 2017
I scoured Amazon and other websites and read a bunch of reviews before settling on this and I am very happy with my purchase.
I used it with my MTB for a 100+ mile trip and a few shorter trips, mostly highway, and it held perfectly and the bike didn't budge. Not sure how it would do off-road. I have it mounted on the side rails of my 2016 Nissan Frontier. My 27.5 MTB fits at just a little angle, and my 700c road bike fits straight without quite touching the opposite side of the bed. Could easily fit two of these behind the wheel wells sideways. Probably could put 3 on the front rail but would have to go with the tailgate down. (I have the crew cab / short bed which I think is actually wider than it is long) It was super easy to install on the Nissan tracks. I read some other reviews about little tricks to make installation easier, but they weren't necessary. Also, it looks way better than having your bike laying in the bed, or trussed up with ratcheting straps or bungees (if you care about how it looks). I'll probably get a 2nd one for my wife's bike.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Great Bike Mount
By Thomas on October 17, 2016
I installed this bike mount on my 2012 Toyota Tacoma's bed rails. Fit is great and installation is super easy. I keep the locking mechanism inside my truck for security reasons. The lock on this bike mount is not one I would rely on if I were to leave my bike unattended in the truck bed for any length of time. It's okay for basic security but nothing I would rely on. My bike is very stable with this mount. Little to no jumping of the back tire when I'm on the road. I would not off road without tying down my bike first. I would and have recommended this bike mount to my friends.

4.0 out of 5 stars Works as advertised
By rich on August 27, 2017
Works with my 2017 Toyota Tacoma bed rails. I also purchased a front bed rail so I could carry my bike lengthwise in the bed. Easy installation and can be installed without taking the rail off. Tailgate of my short bed truck can be closed while bike is in the rack. It is somewhat secure but if someone wants to steal your bike and have a little time they can get it. You will need alternative ways to lock your bike and rear wheel down. There is a little tab that when locking the bike up fits over the end of the fork to hold it down but that can be easily moved to allow the bike to be removed out of the cradle...hence the rating. This is a much better system than a receiver bike rack. I'm very happy with it.
