The package has all you need to start a home studio with the best price you can get with these equipments. I have done several researches before I choose which mic and audio interface to buy. I like Rode and Presonus among several brands and BOOM!!! I saw this package. Presonus USB box comes with Studio one (Artist version) which is an easy, effective and useful DAW for a noob like me. So if you are not sure which equipment u need to buy to start a home studio with limited budget and yet u still want some decent gadgets, this is it. Just check out the individual equipment prices on each items and youtube has technical reviews on each of them. Sure, you can still do more research and you will see how this package is worth the price. That's it, guys.. Good luck and happy recording! :)

With love,
MN

This is the perfect combo, for those who are looking for a extraordinary sound at home. I'm just amazed. I recommend this 100%. The only thing is the software Studio one, which is a shame, however, you can use Pro Tools, Adobe Audition or Garageband.

This would be a great package if it all worked.

Upon setup, the PreSonus AudioBox USB wasn't being recognized by my MacAir (supposed to be plug/play). I am comfortable with tech equipment but still thought it could have been my mistake.

I called the PreSonus tech line and was on hold for 35 minutes until closing time and then got a cheerful recording that they were closed and I should call back during business hours. Okay, I'm still stuck so I called back the next day and waited about 40 minutes this time -- I don't blame the techs, they are understaffed. When I finally got a tech he did a quick diagnostic and announced "Yes, your AudioBox has a problem and we are aware of it. We've had a problem with some units recently." Great. (BTW, how many is "some" units? A hundred? A thousand?)

He then told me to "call Amazon" about the return. What? Your company made the defective equipment and I wasn't going to re-pack the mic, cables, pop-filter, stand, etc. just to return the AudioBox. When I called back and spoke with a supervisor to get a phantom Return Authorization I was told the same thing. The best he could do was "send me a form" so they would consider repairing it but he wouldn't even commit to a matter of weeks for turnaround. Super. They even wanted me to provide them with the unit's serial number so they could "track the problem". Apparently track but ignore. (If they are defective, recall them or do the right thing and replace without hassle.)

Finally, because I was stuck with everything else, I ordered a new AudioBox (on its own, separate order from Amazon) and then returned the old one in its place. (I would have ordered a different brand but then I couldn't have returned the first AudioBox.

It took me a while to get everything set up but the equipment works great and sounds excellent! I turned a guest room closet into a home studio. At second thought I wish I had the option of a desk stand instead of a regular mic stand but the quality of the products are awesome!

The microphone was efficient enough but I expected a better quality from it. I had come from a basic, cheap microphone and expected an exeptional difference in quality, but the Rode NT1-A did not make as much of a difference as I had presumed from a more pricey microphone. Overall, It will do the job and record a bit clearer than a cheap microphone and is decent at doing its job.

I was looking for something I could use to do audio recordings from my home, but quality was really important to me. Price was also something that I was concerned about, but then I found this package, and found it to have everything I needed to get started, but at a great price, considering the cost of putting a package like this together by buying the components individually.

When I got it set up and tried it out, it worked wonderfully. The quality of the recordings is superb, provided that you have the right home setup for recording audio. The only thing that was a bit of a head scratcher is that the Presonus Audiobox USB doesn't speak well "out of the box" with my Windows 8 operating system. It worked, but it was a bit temperamental, and the USB driver didn't always cooperate. I do, consequently, have another laptop with Windows 7, and it loaded and worked without a hitch. I'll probably have to call the company (Presonus) to see if they have any ideas on how to get this box to work a bit better on Windows 8.

However, the quality of the products is great, and it's not a product issue, rather it's a software and operating system issue on the computer end.

I would highly recommend this product to anyone who is looking for quality and affordability in creating their own setup for a recording system.

So I ordered this before the school year started. I got it a while after that. I met with music majors, people that have been in the business, etc...and spent over 20 hours trying to trouble shoot the problem, and to see what the heck was wrong. I was extremely upset to see that the actual microphone's 3-pronged-thing that's supposed to plug into the cable were all DIFFERENT sizes. Whatever, it was a manufacturing mistake. I returned this product 11/12, and have emailed to see when it would come in. really really poor customer service. No one replied to my last email which was 5 days ago. I spent ~$400 on this product, and I expected them to send it back to me expedited if not at least at regular shipping speed. DBROTH sent me a defective product, and doesn't seem to care that I've been waiting to get this product working for the last 3 months.

updated 12/8/13: Well the replacement microphone came in a week ago. It has the exact same problem. The three prongs under the microphone which are suppose to plug into the XLR cable are all DIFFERENT sizes. This is extremely upsetting to me. I am waiting for them to reply, so I can return and hopefully get a full refund.
