1.0 out of 5 stars Knockoff. Fraudulent Item. Does not work for specific microphone. DO NOT BUY RODE products on Amazon
By Christopher Perlera on October 4, 2020
Amazon does a historically poor job identifying cheap knockoffs. The item in the seller picture is different from what I received. The bolt is different colors. The finish is different and the thread is almost too course to screw on. IT WILL NOT HOLD a Rode Procaster b/c this is a fake, cheap product. I initiated a return and hope Amazon will do better in the future. My 1st ever FAKE product.

1.0 out of 5 stars Pivot point weak. plastic pieces. EDIT! IT BROKE!!
By Jayce Feldmann on February 15, 2020
EDIT-1 : ITS BLOODY BROKEN!! - - - So it broke, No big surprise, the plastic just gave way, i went to adjust it and the hole bloody thing came off, the shockmount and mic crashed onto my desk when i let go thinking it was still secure. See Photo.

This is the only product for the procaster microphone. it does sag ever so slightly when used in a hanging mount with the microphone close to parallel with the desk surface, mounting the mic vertically is almost impossible, it just wants to fall, because i cant get it tight enough. the piece of the mount that connects to the mic arm is plastic with a brass bi-level insert, dont need the adapter if you dont have one.. which was nice, but still would have liked to have seen the adapter included. because the mount is painted metal, steel im guessing, its magnetic at least, i would have liked to have seen more aggressive teeth in the metal and a tighter tolerance on the fit between metal and plastic, i also would have liked a bigger knob on the screw, as well as seeing metal there as well, its a brass piece that is glued into a small plastic knob. and i fear that over tightening it will just cause the pieces to separate., i would have liked to have had metal all around. and these few bits of plastic doesnt seem that much of cost saving. the plastic around the nut in the pivot point seems crude, unfinished, there are still plastic burrs all around the inside. taking the bolt and nut out the pivot piece and taking it off and putthem them back in without the shock mount, i tightened it as much as i could until the threads bottomed out and when i went to see how tight it was it just slipped right over, 'teeth' and all. the ledge that the nut side sits on is also very very thin, over tightening would cause it to compress and shear right off. i expected more from this product. i can forgive the not included adapter but with the plastic pieces i just cant truly say im fully satisfied, though i do have to use the product if i am to use the procaster microphone i have with a shockmount with it.

The good note however. the shockmount itself is very sturdy. and oce the mic is tightened on it doesnt feel like its going anywhere.

5.0 out of 5 stars Works fine with a PROCASTER, despite others' complaints
By Slartibart Jones on June 18, 2021
Works perfectly fine with a RODE Procaster microphone. I did notice a sag initially, but if you just pull on the upper bands to increase tension, and give some of that slack to the lower elastic bands you can move the inner ring up and it's fine. Other reviews say the Procaster mic is too heavy for this, but for me it works absolutely great. Nice isolation to prevent receiving the bumps of the boom arm or the desk.

So ignore the other naysayers, this is a solidly-built shock mount made specifically for RODE microphones, and if they can't get their Procaster or PodMics to work (two heavy microphones), they're doing it wrong. My RODE mic is quite happy within this shockmount.

4.0 out of 5 stars The NT-USB pop filter fits fine

4.0 out of 5 stars The NT-USB pop filter fits fine
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on December 5, 2020
So I made the mistake of thinking that the pop filter for the NT-USB isn't compatible at first, because the base of the filter comes out offset to the side.

However you literally just need to turn the mic a little bit to side as you mount it, and it'll fit just fine. Yes it ends up being a bit angled and one of the metal parts from the shock mount does press against the pop filter - but it has no bearing on the result.

The bigger issue in terms of the NT-USB compatibility is accessing the monitoring and volume dials, as well as the 3.5mm jack for my headset. I ended up plugging in an extension cable in for easier future access should I want to swap my headset frequently.

The dials are still accessible if awkward, though I don't think I'll be needing them that often, since I do most things software side.

For the mount itself, my gripe is with the pivot - it wasn't strong enough to support the mount AND the microphone, without me really forcing it when tightening the joint. Not sure if it's a manufacturing fault or design flaw.

Overall it does the job for my basic needs as a starter streamer.

3.0 out of 5 stars Not compatible with Rode NT-USB Microphone
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on June 19, 2016
This item is recommended with the purchase of a Rode NT-USB Microphone. But it's not fully compatible.
First you have to remove the pop up filter that comes with the the Rode NT-USB (which is a shame because it's a very good filter). Once the mic is fitted on the shock mount, it is difficult to access the two dials on the side and plugin headphones is tricky.

5.0 out of 5 stars Top für NT1 USB!
Reviewed in Germany on August 12, 2018
Moin!
