Rodelle Gourmet Baking Cocoa has a stronger, richer chocolate taste than Hershey or Ghirardelli, and I often use 50% Rodelle and 50% Hershey for my recipes to get a perfect mix. My favorite recipes to use them together are brownies and fat free chocolate shakes. Before I discovered Rodelle, both were a little... er... weak in taste. Now they're amazing. I found the brownies were too strong using only Rodelle, but if there's something you need a strong chocolate taste for, this is what I'd use.

Glad I discovered Rodelle as it's improved so many of my favorite chocolate recipes, and can't wait for cold weather to try hot cocoa with it.

I have been trying different chocolates and cocoa powder brands lately. I bake a lot of chocolate flavored desserts. This one has lot of reviews and I wanted to try it to see if it gave me a darker chocolate color in my baked goods as expected in a dutch processed one.
It did indeed but I did not find it any more flavorful that a Hershey's dark baking cocoa. Brownies made with both these cocoa powder looked almost the same color.
It's expensive with less quantity. If you do want to see the difference of flavor, I would recommend Ghirardelli or others in the that price range.

Purchased my first jar of Rodelle baking cocoa yesterday. I have an opened can of another brand here, so I really shouldn't have opened this one, but the temptation to check it out was just too great. I unscrewed the top, lifted the seal just a bit and inhaled. Oh, my stars! What chocolate deliciousness!! I haven't smelled chocolate this rich in years. As other reviewers indicate it leaves even Ghiradelli in the dust. Friday I'm organizing a cocoa tasting party so we'll see how it matches up to some other gourmet brands but I'm pretty sure it will be at or near the top!!

This is honestly the BEST cocoa powder I have ever tried. The flavor is rich. Yes, you pay more than the cheap brands, but try it and you will never go back. I know I won't! BTW, here's an easy recipe for you fellow baking challenged/impatient chocolate lovers like me...

Flourless Chocolate Mug Cake (From the microwave. Must Try!!!)
2Tbsp warm water
2 Tbsp melted Butter
2 Tbsp Rodelle Baking Cocoa
2 Tbsp sugar

Add each ingredient in order. Mix each ingredient well before adding another. Microwave for 60-90 seconds... Enjoy the rich chocolatey goodness!!

I tried the recipe I found on the back of the container and it is my go to recipe for brownies. They don't last very long. The flavor has the intensity I like from chocolate. No sweet brown stuff here! Only real chocolate that will work wonders in any recipe. The other recipes on their website are ALL great either as they are or starting points for anyone who likes to experiment.

This in my opinion is the best cocoa powder! It gives you rich flavor like no Hershey's can, or even Gierdelli. It makes gooey chocolate brownies, and in cookies it is unbelievable. I first bought it at Taader Joes one Christmas and now I'm hooked. No where local had it for baking season this year so I had to order it on Amazon, it also makes a wonderful French style hot chocolate.
