As for the story itself it was quite enjoyable. I liked the characters and their development throughout the book. The word is interesting as are all of the different strains of humanity.
Roe is a very easy to love character, spunky, and full of life. Eric Johnson managed to capture so many emotions in her, and portray them in a way that really made me feel like I was there with her.
I hardly set this book down at all while reading it, and was so into it, I was delighted to find that as it felt like it was wrapping it up, and I still had half a book to go! It was a nice surprise to find that this is actually more like a book and its sequel all rolled into one. The two halves flow together well, and wrap up the story beautifully.
I would recommend this book to anyone into sci-fi. Anyone into post-apocalyptic books. Anyone in general, even if you aren’t a big sci-fi fan. I’m willing to bet after a couple pages you’ll be into it!
Roe is one of the very few I've liked and a huge exception to the negative outcome of buying from the internet. The characters & story are detailed and well thought out. The ending both leaves me satisfied & at the same time makes me begging for more. I recommend this book to anyone who loves to read science fiction as I do.
Roe is a short, fascinating tale of a young girl who's captured as a slave, escapes, then learns to accept herself for who she is: a furry: a creature of human descent that is beautiful, amazing, and strong.
