About Roger Ellerton
Hello, my name is Roger Ellerton. I have been a student of personal development methodologies, with an emphasis on NLP, for almost 30 years. During this time, I have transformed my own life (definitely an on-going process), while developing many new and exciting opportunities for myself and others. Today, I am a certified NLP trainer/coach/author and have been delivering NLP and personal growth seminars and coaching services since 1996.
My students and clients often tell me how much fun it is being in my classes, how clearly I present the material and how ready and willing I am to answer their questions, while often providing the nudge, guidance or insights they have long been searching for.
Today, I am recognized as a top author and presenter in the area of personal growth/NLP. This wasn't always the case. Before pursuing my current interests, I had a varied career path -- tenured university professor (Statistics/Mathematics), certified management consultant, executive in the federal government, for example. I believe this career movement resulted from my search for something very important -- me! I was good at what I did, yet I was never really comfortable in my own skin and often held myself back or did not fully develop warm, mutually supportive relationships with friends, colleagues or even family members. And today, that has all changed. I love who I am, along with the magnificence of my imperfections. I readily look forward to engaging others and supporting them, along with myself, in breaking free of the past and self-imposed limitations and living the life each of us desires.
Although, I feared writing assignments in high school, university and early in my career, I am now the author of eight books/ebooks. Seven are based on NLP. My latest ebook provides insights and lessons learned for DIY or first-time authors, based on my own publishing experiences.
In my spare time, you will find me outside enjoying nature, working around my house or looking forward to a visit with my four adult children.
I am the founder and managing partner of Renewal Technologies Inc. For more information on my books, coaching, public speaking services and workshops, please visit www.renewal.ca.

Blog postThis book is a valuable addition to my bookshelf and should be read by anyone interested in or practicing hypnosis. I like the fact that the author is not a recent hypnosis graduate nor someone who has gathered thoughts from other hypnotists and put them in book form. Instead, Dr. Scott is a chiropractor with more than 25 years of experience using hypnosis for himself and to help his clients.

Roger Ellerton’s book, Win-Win Influence: How to Enhance Your Personal and Business Relationships (with NLP) was recently published by Renewal Technologies Inc. (www.win-wininfluence.com). Blog postAfter many professional development trainings and workshops, I have left feeling inspired, motivated and ready to change things with the best of intentions. Sadly, these desires often became faint, or have left me a few days after the event. I did leave my NLP training feeling much the same way, yet very different. I left not only with excitement about the future, but also with a new sense of confidence and solidity within myself. This grounded, integrated feeling within me hasn't left yet, nor12 years ago Read more

Blog postThe room was filled with a charged atmosphere in anticipation of what was to come while people introduced themselves over morning coffee. What was this excited and eclectic group of people; coaches, an engineer, a retail manager, high school students and others gathering for? NLP training. What is NLP training you ask? It is an acronym for neuro-linguistic programming, a set of techniques allowing you to reprogram your mind and body. Blog postMy purpose in writing this book is to briefly illustrate the power of NLP and to encourage you to explore how NLP concepts can make a difference in your life. I begin by showing that NLP is based on solid theoretical footings from respected disciplines such as: psychology, physiology, systems theory and communication. This is followed by six typical NLP processes that anyone – parents, coaches, those in the helping professions, etc. – can use to help themselves or their children/clients to be mo12 years ago Read more

Note from the author with regard to the Second Edition: Writing and training is a continuous search for new ideas or better ways to convey useful information. As a result of continually evaluating my work, I realized that some sections could be revised to make them easier to understand, while other sections could be expanded to include additional information - increasing the breadth of your knowledge and abilities.
All our dreams can come true - if we have the courage to pursue them
-Walt Disney
How many of us live our lives according to others expectations? How many of us have put our lives on hold to accommodate a spouse (current or past), our parents, our children, someone who is needier than us, for our job ... . How many of us wander through life, with one day the same as the next with little passion for living or purpose in life? How many of us know we could do better, if only we knew how to communicate - with ourselves and with others? Live Your Dreams Let Reality Catch Up helps you discover who you are, what really motivates you and provides you with the knowledge and tools for you to choose what you want in life.
It all begins with communication - the conversation you have with yourself and then the conversation you have with someone else. Do you tell yourself how wonderful you are or do you focus on how things can go wrong, that you do not deserve to succeed? After you have had this conversation with yourself, how does this affect the conversation you have with someone else? And once more do you prove yourself right? And settle for less than you deserve?
NLP (Neuro-Linguistic Programming), the subject of this book, has helped thousands to discover their own potential, is it your turn? Are you ready?
This book does not pretend to know what is best for you, nor will it tell you how you should live your life. It provides a Toolkit for Transformation and is the Life Manual you didn't get when you were born! It's all about recognizing you have choice, you are always choosing. You have the choice of 'continuing to do what you have always done and get the same results, or you can choose to do something different.
Far too many of us dream our dreams, yet for one reason or another fail to take concerted effort to bring them to life.I wrote this book to help those, who are looking for more in life, achieve what they desire. It provides clear instructions for eliciting and formulating your desired outcomes, together with a proven process to attain them.If you are a coach, you will find this book provides a practical outline for a series of coaching sessions that you can customize to meet specific client needs. This book integrates three effective and compatible strategies for success: Five Steps for Success. Ready, Fire, Aim. Continuous, incremental improvement. with principles from neuro-linguistic programming (NLP). Together, they become an easy to use and powerful five-step process that makes a difference in how you identify and achieve your dreams. NLP is a fundamental component to achieving your dreams. For over fifteen years, I have been studying, talking about, using and providing coaching and training services in NLP and have observed the tremendous positive impact NLP principles and techniques have had on my clients. Personally, NLP has had a great influence on my own communication and the way I perceive and live life. As a Certified Management Consultant and former university professor and executive, I find NLP techniques invaluable in first, assisting me to feel good about myself and what I choose to do and second, in my conversations and interactions with others as we express our differing points of view and work toward a win-win result. I trust you will find this book to be a valuable resource and I look forward to receiving any observations you may wish to share with me. Roger Ellerton
-- Virginia Satir, Family Therapist
Parenting is not an idea, a concept or a belief. It's a process and therefore is neither static nor fixed in time that results in something special being created. Your activities and responsibilities as a parent evolve with your children, taking into account their needs - physical, social, emotional and intellectual - and your ability to be aware of and to meet these needs. As an effective parent, you help your children overcome perceived limitations to do their best and to be a valued member of the family. All the while, you bump up against your own limitations - many of your own making.
Parents' Handbook: NLP & Common Sense Guide for Family Well-Being provides you with tools, techniques, insights and approaches to improve the way you communicate, to be available emotionally and physically and to successfully fulfill the different roles expected of you as a parent. By the time you finish the Parents' Handbook, you will have discovered how to:
•Have meaningful, supportive conversations with your partner and children.
•Address beliefs or habits that get in the way of being an effective parent.
•Help your children address beliefs or habits that limit them.
•Support yourself and family members in achieving your respective dreams.
•Fulfill the six primary parenting roles essential for the well-being of your children.
•Support your children in learning effectively at school and at home.
Although written for parents, the material is presented at a level older teens can understand and use. With the aid of their parents, younger teens will also find most concepts in this book useful.
This book draws on an area of personal development called neuro-linguistic programming (NLP). NLP has helped hundreds of thousands discover their own potential and live the lives they desire. Make it the difference that makes a difference for your family.
—Zig Zigler
Whether you are a parent, son/daughter, friend, employee, manager or salesperson, you are constantly influencing others to accept you, your ideas, products or services. Those who masterfully present themselves and their ideas in a win-win manner, get ahead. Those who do not, may reap short-term gains and eventually fail in their objective.
Influence is critical in leadership, negotiation, teamwork and getting others to buy into your ideas. Follow and practice the concepts, tips and processes described in this book and improve your influence results with anyone in a manner that achieves a win-win outcome. The emphasis is on expanding your influence skills and results in everyday situations. For example, through this book, you will learn how to:
• Enhance your personal and business relationships.
• Create the career you want.
• Become a stronger negotiator.
• Enjoy the family life you desire.
• Create healthy work environments.
• Be who you choose to be.
Whether you realize it or not, you are constantly influencing other people’s thoughts. You do this through your actions as well as your inactions. One of the best, if not the best, communication models is neuro-linguistic programming (NLP), which forms a fundamental part of this book.
How important is the ability to influence others? No matter whether you are a businessperson, teacher, parent, stay-at-home spouse, employee or manager, dealing with people is probably the most important activity you undertake throughout the course of your day. A number of years ago, research sponsored by the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching and later confirmed at the Carnegie Institute of Technology discovered that even in engineering, about 15 percent of one’s financial success is due to one’s technical knowledge and about 85 percent is due to interpersonal skills.
If you are ready to be the difference that makes the difference in creating better results in your life, grab a copy and let’s get started!
This ebook contains a diverse collection of fifteen NLP and personal growth articles. Some articles will educate you on basic NLP concepts, while others will challenge your current way of thinking and how you view the world around you. If you take time to read all of the articles and fully consider what is said, rather than quickly skimming them, your thoughts about yourself and what is possible will most likely change.
A companion ebook contains another fifteen articles and a third is planned. Many of these articles appear on my website, renewal.ca. As well, some, in whole or in part, have appeared in my previous books or have been published in magazines or newsletters.
Although you and I have some common interests, we are far from identical. We have experienced different childhoods, have different cultural experiences and I am sure our beliefs and values differ in some way. As a result, you may find some of the articles particularly insightful, while other articles may be challenging or not resonate for you at all. And then your friends or family members may have totally different opinions on the articles, yet again. Yet, a year from now, articles that you found particularly moving may no longer resonate as you have moved past that issue in your life; while articles that originally did not make sense, seemed inappropriate or were just bland may be the ones that hold new insights or truths for you.
If you do find an article challenging or not relevant and you want to quickly dismiss it, I respectfully request that you come back to that article when you have time to fully relax. Explore if there is something in the article that you are choosing to ignore at this time and that if you were to fully explore that issue or idea perhaps it would open new doors or avenues of thought that will make a significant difference in your life.
