Drink up--but buy the 2012 edition
on April 27, 2009
Daniel Rogov, may he rest in peace, was the leading Israeli wine critic. His reviews were world renowned. This is an earlier edition of the 2012 authoritativeness guide on Israeli wines written for both the connoisseur and novice. Rogov goes into a wonderful explanation and elucidation of the Israeli wine industry. His ratings are generally quite on-target, in my opinion, if a bit over-stated. Rogov gives high ratings to several inexpensive wines (under $20 a bottle)--one can enjoy without lavish spending. In 2011 he wrote a review of kosher wines from around the world as a companion to his Israeli wine review volume.
