After hundreds of one night stands...after endless searching and hoping "the one" is right around the corner - - Melanie Meyers Dean is feeling worthless and used. She's 24 and feeling lonely, alone and empty now that Brooke, her BFF has gotten married to her "one". And though Melanie is so happy for Brooke, she's also sad....and feeling even more alone. Because more than anything, Melanie wants what Brooke has found. She wants that perfect "one" that will look at her as if she's perfect too...as if she's enough. His everything.
Greyson Slater King; aka: "Zero" is a collector of gambling debts. He's a criminal. He has zero identity...zero traces. He's completely untraceable...nothing but a number. Zero doesn't "do" relationships and he's never met anyone who would make him wanna change - - until Melanie. And now...no matter how hard he's fought against the feelings...he feels pulled, twisted, knotted up and used just by looking at her. She becomes his achilles heel. And now he's ravenous......for her. Nothing else matters, only her.
What a fabulous story and this Author has such an incredible talent of delivering precise and explicit narrative (and character) details, second only to Diana Gabaldon (OUTLANDER SAGA). Description of emotions and feelings are spot on direct and completely, deliriously consuming...propelling the reader...enthralling and engulfing us ..and placing us within the story lines with absolute precision. In little time, you're quite invested emotionally with Melanie and Greyson.
I loved reading each main characters POV...their perspective of thoughts, but especially Greysons' thoughts as he's a new character never before known (in this series). It was interesting to get to know a little bit of his mind and life. When an Author gives us each characters' POV, it add's emotional dimension and connection beyond the norm...(at least it does for me). All you can do is buckle up tight and hang on - - and be thankful you found an author that can bring characters to life in such a fantastical, REAL way. You'll feel the need and the want and the love of these two characters. You'll feel them devour each other. I only wish Melanie and Greyson had their own series as this story just wasn't long enough.
This story is, in a word...outstanding!
I love this series. Ever part of it and can't wait to read Ripped, about Pandora. I will recommend this series to anyone and everyone who loves a romantic, mysterious thriller. I couldn't put it down. Ever time I receive the next book in the series, I go back and read the series from book 1, It's that good.
One question, well maybe two, does Brooke finally have Iris and does Greyson and his princess get married with children?
Katy Evans has the ability to let her readers experience the journey of her characters right along with them. She can grab hold of her readers from the very beginning and keeps them on a roller coaster ride of emotions. I can't even count the number of times I cried while reading this book.
Rogue is a well-written story with an excellent storyline and characters in which you feel every emotion that they are feeling. This book is a beautiful, emotional story of love and healing, second chances, moving on and family. It is a story about regret, revenge, forgiveness and ultimately, love.
Greyson and Melanie have a chemistry that leaps off the page. You can feel the sexual tension between them. Rogue will leave you in a puddle of lust.
