Whoa. Why was I not told I’d need one of those walk-in freezers while reading this book? Apart from being one of my most scorching reads of the year, the ‘realness’ of the love story took me totally off guard, and held me captive until the very last word. This is a book I expected to like, and found myself obsessively devouring. The level of emotion, the raw chemistry between the characters, the insight into both their personalities—this book was the total package for me and one I’d recommend unreservedly.
“I get up every morning and put on my perfect face and promise myself to have the perfect day and to someday have the perfect family. But I’m failing.”
We met Melanie Meyers in previous instalments of the series as Brooke’s loyal best friend, but it is not until now that we meet the real Melanie and the hopeless dreamer behind the mouthy vixen. Melanie has always been the perfect daughter, the bright hope in her parents’ life, perennially bubbly and optimistic, her appearance and attitude reflecting that positivity and cheerfulness. Deep down, however, Melanie feels like a fraud, unworthy of the life she was given because she keeps failing at the one thing her parents wish the most for her—finding a good man and falling head over heels in love with him. She keeps ‘kissing frogs’ in the hope of finding the man of her dreams, but all she is ever left with is a string of one-night stands and a heart that keeps breaking from the constant sting of disappointment. And yet, Melanie never stops hoping that her perfect man would suddenly walk into her life and love her the way she craves to be loved, the way she sees her friend Brooke being loved by her husband—completely and desperately.Read more ›
Melanie has always thought she was only worth the party, the one night stand, never the happily ever after and certainly not the prince charming she always dreamed of. That all changes one rainy night when Greyson comes to her rescue and a tortuous love affair begins. The problem is, they both have secrets. Big, dangerous secrets, like what Greyson does professionally and what has Melanie selling off most of everything she owns. What happens when the secrets they tried so hard to keep, come out in the open? And who is Zero?
Katy Evans writes sex like no one else. Anyone that's met Remy and Brooke, can attest to that. It's no different for Greyson and Melanie. It's passion, heat and carnal. And it's freaking awesome!! Bedrooms scenes expertly woven into an intricate plot that has a little suspense, a little danger and even some Remy, makes for a fluid story that doesn't disappoint. Rogue gets 4.5 stars from me!
After hundreds of one night stands...after endless searching and hoping "the one" is right around the corner - - Melanie Meyers Dean is feeling worthless and used. She's 24 and feeling lonely, alone and empty now that Brooke, her BFF has gotten married to her "one". And though Melanie is so happy for Brooke, she's also sad....and feeling even more alone. Because more than anything, Melanie wants what Brooke has found. She wants that perfect "one" that will look at her as if she's perfect too...as if she's enough. His everything.
Greyson Slater King; aka: "Zero" is a collector of gambling debts. He's a criminal. He has zero identity...zero traces. He's completely untraceable...nothing but a number. Zero doesn't "do" relationships and he's never met anyone who would make him wanna change - - until Melanie. And now...no matter how hard he's fought against the feelings...he feels pulled, twisted, knotted up and used just by looking at her. She becomes his achilles heel. And now he's ravenous......for her. Nothing else matters, only her.
What a fabulous story and this Author has such an incredible talent of delivering precise and explicit narrative (and character) details, second only to Diana Gabaldon (OUTLANDER SAGA).Read more ›
He's a ten. I've never, ever been with a ten. And the way that he looks at me...I've seen that look before. The look that Remington Tate gives Brooke. That look. He's giving it to me and I'm dying inside. Can I die from one look? And if one look can kill me, then what would one touch do?
Greyson is like a good bad guy. He wants to be a good person, and in his heart he is a wonderful person. But his circumstances and actions make him look otherwise. He's perfect for readers that want to skirt the edge of bad boy.
Melanie is a realistic 21st century girl. She isn't a super virgin or a badass. She's a lonely woman with a life full of one night stands looking for her prince charming.
I like both characters really well, and I think that they were perfect for each other. Sometimes couples in a story don't seem even, but they definitely complete each other. Neither is really good or bad but a variance on the scale.
She makes me feel like I'm not a robot, like I'm flesh and blood, a man, not a number, not a job...not a monster, not a bastard, not a zero.
I super enjoyed this read and definitely recommend it.

This book is a disappointment. Rogue feels like it was hastily written and unedited. Few books are free of errors, but the sheer volume of errors in this distract from an otherwise... Read morePublished 1 month ago by Michael S.

Best book in the series. Melanie was the weak link in this book. I just didn't like her and honestly wasn't sure why Greyson did. Greyson on the other hand made the book. Read morePublished 4 months ago by Aaren C
