I really hate to see people talking bad about this ukulele. It only needs two things. A good set up on the tuners. By tightening the screw on each tuner to a point where it is in tune for that string. That has kept my ukulele in tune for weeks (if no major weather changes are taken). And, two, a new set of strings. That improves intonation 100%. There you will have a great ukulele in that price range.

This Ukulele is outstanding. Me myself have never played an Ukulele before but I do play the guitar and cello. Very easy for ME to pick up and play. The only suggestion I have is that you carry a handy screw driver around in the case. The pegs slip really easily, not a big deal, all you do is screw the nuts in after find the exact note, tighten them as much as you can and you should have no problem. Over a very outstanding ukulele. Also I highly recommend getting new strings. I already order them and they should be here soon. This is what I bought : http://www.amazon.com/DAddario-J53-Ukulele-Strings-Hawaiian-Concert/dp/B0006IQNHA/ref=pd_sim_MI_3 If any one else knows a better company please tell me :D As I said before I have never played this before, well I gotta get playing! :D

First of all the "starter pack" consists of a soprano ukulele, a cheap guitar tuner, and a piece of paper with a couple chords on it, so you are basically just purchasing the Uke. As far as the instrument itself, it actually plays pretty well for something so cheap. I spent five bucks to put some better strings on it, and it has a fairly nice sound to it. If you are a beginner looking to play the soprano ukulele, I would suggest purchasing this one. I've seen many people purchase expensive instruments only to realize they don't enjoy playing them. So if you're a first time buyer, I would definitely recommend this one.

I usually buy 5 of these on sale at musician's friend with free shipping for $100 when they are on sale for $20 each. The plain soprano ukulele has everything that the starter kit has except a pitch pipe. Pitch pipes can be had for an extra $5 for a cheapie. Then I jazz these well-built basic ukes up a little: I replace the plastic nut and saddle with BONE and add a set of Aquila Nylgut strings and that helps the instrument sound really nice! While the strings are off I get some rubbing compound and make the ukulele shiny too. In short, this is the cheapest way to get a playable ukulele... give it a try.

Overall from what Ive read on the internet this is a good uke, but after many atempts of home repairs i still can not stop my strings from buzzing on the first fret. It makes most chords sound like your playing them wrong,

When tuned to proper pitch the bridge popped off. I know this is cheap construction, but it should never have been sold if it cannot function as described. Shame on Amazon, Music 123, and Rogue, inc.

The case they give you is nicer than the Ukulele itself. The strings don't sit in the bridge correctly, they fall out of the holder and so you can't play it. It might be nice to give to a little kid and you can file down the hole so the string will stay in place. I wouldn't buy it even as a starter for a middle schooler/older.

This ukulele is the cheapest thing I've ever purchased, literally. The strings broke immediately when I tried to ten them out of the box. One of the tuners is so loose that I'm sure it will break too. I bought this for my niece as a cheap learning uke and I am too embarrassed to even give it her.

Also, no response from seller when I asked about a refund.
