If you are new to this series, I'd suggest starting with either Northern Lights (it stars one of the side characters, Ahia, in it, and has the main character, Karl, briefly in it as well), or Juneau to Kenai (the novella before this one). The novella will make more sense if you start there. This book is a continuation of the main arc from the previous novella, so you will miss a lot if you just jump in with this one. Or, you could just start with A Demon Bound, which is book 1 in the Imp series. You wont regret it, I promise you!
I received a free copy of this book from the author, however I enjoyed it so much that I bought a copy as well :)
In true Imp World style adventure, mystery, and romance collide to create a thoroughly enjoyable story. The intimate introduction to Karl, who was briefly mentioned in "Northern Lights", and cameos from beloved characters make "Rogue" a perfect addition to the Imp World. I highly recommend reading "Juneau to Kenai" first, at the very least. Better yet, start at the beginning with "A Demon Bound" and fall in love with the entire Imp World.

As Sabrina and Karl track down the rogue bear, they realize that they have more on their hands than a normal shifter going off the rails. Sabrina suspects that the rogue's behavior could be related to the near fatal gunshot sustained by her alpha, Brent, and the suspicious bullet which caused his injury. Isolationist Karl doesn't want to have anything to do with the larger problem facing the shifter population. However, when Sabrina's investigations put her in harm's way, Karl has to decide where to compromise his reclusive ways in order to protect the woman he loves.
The Rogue is the perfect middle child of a book. While the romance between Sabrina and Karl is fresh and new, the conflict which provides the primary action was introduced in Juneau to Kenai. Sabrina, Karl and the rest of the Juneau pack make headway in resolving the problem, but in the end even Sabrina acknowledges that more needs to be done. Thus, setting the stage for the third book in the trilogy. I can't wait to read Winter Fae to see how it all turns out!
