I loved the characters. I found them so interesting and entertaining. I loved the interactions between them. It was just so easy to get into the flow of the characters. I liked Arland a lot. He was a good leader and he was very kind. He and his friends worked well together and they were each just so interesting. I loved it when they talked about their history. I couldn’t get enough. My favorite character was the Mysterious warrior. He was so mysterious and I kind of liked that he was mute. It made things much more fascinating. I couldn’t get enough of him. Though I did not like that the group of men were so easily swayed by women excluding the Mysterious Warrior. I mean they were all discussing going for the princesses hand in marriage then they were tripping all over themselves for a maiden. It bothered me a lot how they easily declared love or at least feelings.
Overall, the book was amazing. I was never bored or confused. I was so hooked. I admit there were times where the book felt too light to me, like there wasn’t enough depth. Though those times were few and far between. I loved the characters even with the minor irritation and I have to say I highly recommend this book if you are a fantasy fan. Especially if you love the Hobbit or books like that. I am so happy I was able to review the book.
By Anna del C. Dye
This refreshing YA High Fantasy is full of action, twists, and turns. It is a tale involving love, mystery, selflessness, integration, and governmental choice. These issues are woven into a happily-ever-after story that readers will enjoy. The author has used language in an effective way to present the characters' dialect that does not detract from the story.
