I love this roku! It was easy to set up. It walked me right through it. The remote allows me to adjust the volume and everything like it says so I don't have to keep switching remotes...this was important to me. I HATE LOOKING FOR REMOTES!! You still need your main cable remote when you want to watch cable tv but I just don't watch much cable anymore it's all on my Roku, Hulu, Prime and Netflix. I do save a couple shows on cable that I watch on Saturday so I do that then. This is a great buy for me to have them all in one spot and under one remote.

Unable to setup unit on TV.

Message appeared 'Unable to update software' appeared.
I tried to get the software installed at least 10 times.
Roku stick was about 9' from router.

I’ve known about Roku since it’s release! At that time, the Internet wasn’t what it is today. There are so many options available to cut the cord and stream fresh, free content. It wasn’t difficult to convince my 80-year old dad to stop paying the cable company $212 per month! Ouch!

I found by bundling cable alternatives, I can still shave about 50% off my bill! How? Well, I recommend deciding on what channels you truly need and watch. Depending on the size of your household you can either split the monthly service cost for the premium streams or have people get their own subscriptions. For instance, only my stepdad watches ESPN and he can get ESPN 1, 2, and 3 for $30 per month by subscribing to SLING’s Orange Plan.

He can watch all of his classic western movies and TV shows on the free channels. My mom and I will split the cost of FUBOTV (106 channels, 130+ events in 4K) that has access to lots of sports channels and NFL/NBA for $59+ per month. Also, we will split the Internet which will be $40+ per month. For my household, the average monthly cost per person is $55 excluding any individual apps, like Netflix, Hulu, and Disney +. Again, each person can pay for their extras. Even if you have a household of one, your cost should average $20-$130 excluding taxes and premium subscriptions. Wait! What? $20? How? PHILO TV has 58 channels, no sports for $20 per month! Their channel lineup includes AMC, A&E, Lifetime, and many more!

In short, you can pay only $20 for a cable alternative, and then you can subscribe to standalone premium apps, like Prime Video ($119 per year with many other benefits) via a subscription to Amazon Prime (I’m not affiliated with Amazon).

Regarding the remote, I upgraded to Premiere+ because of the TV controls and voice control. My 83-year old mom finds it easier to use Roku with those features. She isn’t tech-saavy.

La caja viene con una cubierta roja de ROKU pero el interior es una caja de cartón genérica y el empaque no corresponde a lo que vende Roku. Si bien el producto se ve nuevo y no presenta falla aparente alguna, me deja la duda si es usado al no venir empacado original.

Este Roku no me funciono, ya que aunque el empaque indicaba capacidad para utilizar redes 2.4 y 5 Ghz, en realidad solo funciona con 2.4; en mi caso, aunque la cantidad de dispositivos no es demasiada (aprox 4 - 6) transmitiendo al mismo tiempo sobre un ADSL de 50/5, la saturacion de redes 2.4 en mi zona hace impractico utilizar video en 2.4. No tengo red cableada a cada equipo que hace streaming asi que dependo de las bondades de la red 5 Ghz la cual me funciona muy bien. Actualmente tengo un Roku stick el cual recibe video en 5Ghz sin problemas de congelamiento asi que comprare otro stick con doble banda.

El artículo corresponde a la descripción pero el embalaje no, es medio genérico una caja de cartón recubierta con un cartón de Roku. El producto venía bien a excepción de el cable USB, venía como de segunda mano y no funcionaba. Se arregló con otro cable de mejor calidad.
Los comandos de voz no funcionan, al menos no en México no se en otras partes.
Conclusión parece más un producto Renewed que uno nuevo.
