I've owned many Roku devices over many years, and this model is a clear improvement all that came before. It's more responsive and faster in every way, starting with the streamlined, mostly automated setup. I love that it has an ethernet port for a wired connection to my router. The remote control operates faster than any other Roku remote I've used. The earphone option on the remote works better than on previous Roku remotes. And I like that the remote has a power button for my TV and volume buttons, too.

I am surprised at how great Roku is over Fire stick. This is a novice review, but I have both, after cutting the cord and my preface is Roku because of esthetics. I have Hulu Live and when I scroll through the channels, on Roku, the channel shows up in the background unlike Fire. It's the small things.

We have had a Fire Stick for years and still have one, love and will continue to use it, but purchased a Roku for our cabin and another for at home use, there are some notable differences, and both have their advantages!

The Roku will work with both Google Home & Alexa where the Firestick will only work with Alexa. Roku has a guest feature, and the menu is set up nicely, we feel a little better than our Fire Stick's menu.

With the Roku you can add Spotify App for quick access to streaming music which we love, the Roku remote is much nicer than the Firestick remote and has 2 custom programmable buttons to add apps to, also has netflix and hulu button for quick access, volume control on side. The fish aquarium screensaver is a nice feature. The Roku is very easy to set up and add your fav apps to, very user friendly. Like being able to stream through Roku and use with Bluetooth speaker so can listen on different devices as well. We are very happy with our Roku purchase, would highly recommend this product!

This is an Awesome Roku. Much better than the last one I had which was an express. For those reviewers saying you had to pay for more than just the Roku and had to pay a set up fee. You got scammed. There is never a charge for set up. You are only paying for the Roku itself.

During set up it will ask you if you want certain apps with free trails. If you avoid saying yes to those and only downloading free apps or apps whose services you already subscribe to like Netflix then your good.

Set up was simple enough as well. You just have to plug it in and connect it to your tv and then follow the on screen instructions. The hardest part was setting up the remote and pairing it to my tv as the instructions made it hard to understand but luckily with looking up additional information I figured it out so even that wasn’t hard.

I really love it overall because it’s much faster than my express was as far as responding and launching apps. I also love the voice command as it’s faster than typing sometimes.

Also since the Roku ultra is newer than the express I was able to download some streaming apps that weren’t compatible on my express so I love that I was able to do that as well.

I highly recommend this for anyone who’s looking for a way to stream.

We had a Roku that was about 6 years old or so and our son bought us this upgrade and let me just say very nice. It came in a very nicely packaged box easy instructions to set it up, even voice command to help you along with the programming if you need it. A tremendous amount of opinions to choose from when it comes to watching t.v. We do not pay for a regular service because of the amount of money they gouge you for, and it never goes down. This way we pay for our internet service and have this device with our smart t.v and we can watch whatever we want for pennies compared to what it was before. We also noticed that the picture quality is much better with this new product. I would definitely recommend this product to anyone who asks about it.

It refused to load Netflix. It just froze up, with either a black screen or a blue screen. System requirements match what I have. I saw something online, about not using Auto Detect for display type, but to set it manually. Tried that. No go. Someone else said change the display to 720p to get Netflix to load, then change it back. No go, at first, but after SEVERAL restarts (And a software update) I WAS able to get to work at 720p, and also when I changed it back to 4K HDR 60 Hz. VERY frustrating!
