Great remote, battery operated, inexpensive
Excellent spare remote for my Roku system. This remote is inexpensive especially compared to Apple, it’s small, functional and has all buttons.The Apple TV remote has the annoying touch panel/pad that is easy to activate with a simple slip of the hand. Not a problem with this remote which has secure buttons.It also has dedicated buttons for Netflix, Disney+ , Apple TV and Paramount+ which is another feature not found on the Apple TV remote.This remote has a durable feel yet is light weight and the buttons have a positive feel when pressed. The Apple TV remote in the photo has a yellow after market protective cover and you can see how spartan the Apple Remote is compared to the Roku remote.I don’t use the voice much now but that might change as I grow accustomed to that feature.For 1/3 the cost of a replacement Apple TV remote, this Roku remote is 10 times better.

Definitely order one of the little control condom things lol. That way it doesn’t go into your couch cushions or anything like that. It’s harder to lose if you get one of these, and you can get them on Amazon that’s where I got mine. I did have a little trouble setting it up to be honest. It took a couple days for me to get my brother over here to do it. But after he finally set it up, it’s very convenient. You can literally just say to the remote, put volume up to 40, and it will do it. It’s actually really cool feature, I would recommend :)

I loved my original gaming remote. The smooth, shiny satiny texture, width & weight feel wonderful in my slightly arthritic hands. I could hold it comfortably for hours without my hands cramping. It was such a great design, I even found myself holding it like a security blanket when I was stressed or in pain. The app buttons fit my interests perfectly as it was the gen 1 Roku Ultra & only basic streaming services like Netflix & Hulu were popular it also included Roku & CBS All Access (Paramount +). I use Hulu on a daily basis as a important part of my bedtime routine. I love going to bed with the same show playing in the background every night.
I despise this new remote! I hate the weird gritty texture. I hate how thin & light it is. Thin light objects are known to cause hand cramping which is why mechanical pencils for artists are thick & contain weights to make them heavier.
I was forced to purchase a new remote when I woke up to a wet remote. I reluctantly & hurriedly purchased a remote from Roku's shop for $20 that had most of the features my Ultra Gaming Remote had plus the mute button I'd often wished for & seemed to have programmable app buttons just like Roku's Instagram page boasted about. The listing had no photos of pre programmed app buttons & my focus was on trying to save my original remote & only purchased the new one to have on standby in case of an emergency. I bought my new remote in April & it's nearly October. I just pulled it out of storage to discover not only is the box in Spanish, but the included instructions are only in Spanish as well. I can usually get the jist of written Spanish, but I was too exhausted, frustrated & annoyed with what seemed to be bait & switch tactics to consientrate. I reviewed this listing reading every detail trying to find out why I ended up with Español packaging & random app buttons. I still don't know why I received foreign language packaging & I'm shocked that customizable versions don't seem to exist. I fully admit I was in emergency mode & it's my fault for trusting photos & not reading every detail of the listing. This is still a misleading listing. Why do they showcase a version that's not even available for purchase? Why was I sent a version that's not advertised at all?
