Actually, they are fantastic olives. AND, Roland has exceptionally low prices. DO NOT buy your fancy olives from that counter in the super market. They are terribly expensive. Also, Roland imports Morocco olives which are my favorite. If you lave the big black jug out instead of refrigerating it, they will form yeast which is harmless. The Greeks actually like the yeast to form and make a better flavor. But, if the yeast eventually dies and turns muddy looking, boil the olives in water and vinegar and keep them in the frig from then on. Rinse them well before doing this. I have done this because I am not sure the dark dead yeast is safe to eat. Do not throw them away if they do this. I am eating mine this way and having no problemmmmmmmm pft pft pft. Just kidding.

They are salty like olives duh. Really good taste . I was able to freeze mine as I do not expect them to keep for 6 months . I eat them on salad every day . So they are good for you I believe. If olive oil is good for you so must be the source .

The box arrived, and my husband picked it up off the porch. “Oh, wow, this is heavy!” he murmured. The box was smaller than I expected, but the jar contained the advertised amount of product. The jar itself was gross - some sort of specks dotted the label. They were gritty, but I have no idea of their provenance. The jar also looked like it had leaked at some point, with dried olive juice running down from the lid. After reading all of the reviews, I was prepared for an epic battle to remove the lid and access the salty bits of paradise. I was pleasantly surprised to find the jar easy to open. I unscrewed the lid, pulled off the ring, and then used the tip of a knife to pry the plastic insert out of position. The rubber gasket for the lid popped out and is too large to have any hope of replacing. But I don’t care. I have an inordinate amount of delicious olives.

Definitely a good value for the price (a lot of olives 🫒 in this container).
Would have appreciated the container having some sort of safety seal on it (could have been opened and closed by anyone).
About a third of the olives are broken or crushed and as far as flavor is concerned, the flavor is overpowered by an excess of sodium. (I rinsed a few to see if that would remove some of the salty flavor, but it's pretty well marinated in them).
I admittedly am not.a fan of salt, so they may not be salty to those who don't mind or like it.
