From the Author
If any of the Hector Lassiter series entries can lay claim to striving for an epic scale, this would be the one. "Roll the Credits" unveils author/screenwriter Hector Lassiter's clandestine World War II adventures--activities previously hinted at in "Head Games" and "Print the Legend." Hector's controversial, hands-on role in European operations while serving as a war correspondent draws heavily on Ernest Hemingway's similar blurring of the lines that resulted in Hem's official investigation and eventual censure as depicted in this novel.

Roll The Credits features once more, the man who, "writes what he lives and lives what he writes," soldier/journalist,novelist, Hector Lassiter. Hector has made this his own private war, and even his own government cannot hold him back. Not even the passing years can dim his rage and desire for justice.
The novel stretches seamlessly from Paris, in 1925, to France, in 1940, to 1957 Mexico, until it finally comes to a bullet ridden climax in the steamy jungles of Brazil in 1971.
The novel builds slowly and slowly until the reader suddenly realizes that the pages are flying by, faster and faster, and the night Is getting longer, and longer, and you still can't stop reading.
Roll The Credits is right up there now, on my list of favorite Craig McDonald novels. That list has grown with every one of them I read. Each new one, edging the others out for the top spot. Crime fiction does not get any better than this.
And roll the credits for Betimes Books. Thank you for publishing this hugely entertaining novel, and for publishing all the Hector Lassiter novels in chronological order.
