From the Author
Ten full-length romance novels by ten of your favorite authors for one low price! Regular price of the books in this bundle is $35.76, you save $32.77. Wow!
All of the stories by these author are very good, except for the last one Jesse's brother, by Wendy Ely. This story is choppy, disjointed and not well written at all. I hope that the author Wendy Ely gets some help with her English composition because her writing style is not well written.
I've only finished two book in this bundle so far, but it's completely worth the $.99 that I paid for it. The first story left me cold and remains unfinished, but I've already found two new authors whose work I like. At this price, this collection is a great addition to any contemporary romance novel lover's library.
Some of the novels in this bundle are entertaining, others are marred by poor writing and an implausible plot. Some I simply could not finish. The gist of most of the stories can be summed up as follows: "OH! He's HOT! But I don't trust him! OMG - I'm falling in love with him! But I still don't trust him! Is this man more than he seems? Can I trust him?" and so on, blah blah blah. Gets old.
The one real standout of the bunch is Rogue's Hostage by Linda McLaughlin. This is a well-researched novel that takes place during the French and Indian Wars. The heroine is taken captive by a French and Indian war party after Indians kill her husband in a raid on their cabin. After a forced march across the wilderness, she is held at Fort Duquesne. There she slowly comes to know the Frenchman who insisted that her life be spared after the raid. The evolution of her feelings for the man is carefully drawn out and quite believable. I liked this story a lot, and plan on looking for more stories by this author.
This collection of stories served its purpose admirably - I bought it to read while recovering from surgery. At 99 cents it was a deal. I would not recommend paying much more than that.
If you like collections, recommended instead is Dangerous Attraction Romantic Suspense Boxed Set. The stories in this collection range in the heat level from sweet to scorcher. All of them are well-written, with interesting plots, and do not contain pages and pages of silly angst, doubt and turmoil about nothing.
