So… I had a hard time with this story. I thought the concept was interesting, but had trouble with some of the execution. Dominic is forced into a PR relationship to help him get a sponsorship deal and Aiden stands in for his supermodel brother when Zeb can’t make it.
I understood both Dominic’s and Aiden’s points of view in the story, but had a hard time connecting with the characters. Throughout the story it just seemed that they would both internally whine about their situations or the people around them and to me it made them quite off putting. While we see them both jump into a physical relationship without much talk about the future and feelings, I can understand their feelings being hurt through misunderstanding, but didn’t really feel the characters emotions.
Rusty Topsfield did a nice job narrating this story. I was able to keep track of the story and characters which is always nice. I didn’t like some of the voices he had for characters and a few secondary ones seemed quite similar, but the whiny quality of some of the voices he used along with the whininess of the characters didn’t help.
Cover art by Bree Archer is nice and follows the pattern for the series.
I was a bit disappointed that we didn’t get to see more of the melding between the supposed model and the mountaineer – that definitely wasn’t the focus. Most of this was the banter between two pretty cantankerous individuals and then battling the paparazzi.
It’s very British and I love that! I also really liked the soft approach to dealing with Dom’s father issues.
I never got a great feel for Aidan and what he wanted/needed, and I wish we could have spent more time with him and Dom as a couple where everything was laid out and honest. (Especially before the “ILYs”)
It was a fun and funny story with some clever and unique plot twists but I wasn’t as compelled by the romance between these two than I had been in other Dreamspun books. I’d recommend it for a fun/funny read – especially if you love British humor!

Aidan who is Zeb's twin, decided to help his supermodel brother to assume his identity and go on a date with a popular mountaineer, Dominic. Dominic is a non-nonsense, gruff and lack of social etiquette of a brute. The last thing he needs is to date a diva model for a PR stunt. But when he meet Zeb, who is in fact, Aidan, he didn't expect to be attracted to the charming yet shy man who love the nature as much as he does.
I find the romance started off good with some great potential. Both Aidan and Dominic are characters that I felt connected to. But their romance didn't quite able to develop past the level of initial attraction. We get to know much about their past, their hopes and their vulnerabilities. But all that were only going on in their head. They didn't communicate much besides the likes and dislikes. Even their weeks of dating was mentioned briefly without much details.
Mistaken identity is something that might only happen in fiction, but I'm okay with the suspense disbelief. I can even imagine that they lead different lives that doesn't cross path. But for the twin not having any friends, beside one Lukas, who know they have a twin is unbelievable.
Let's not let me start on the sex. One time only, really? Don't be so selfish here. I need more love, as in more making love. More sex. More getting down and dirty.
To me, I enjoy the story for the most part. But as I said, it started off good, but it sorta just ended with a HEA before the romance really had a chance to develop. I feel like I only read half the story.
It's well-written and takes place in London, with English characters and situations that I could relate to (like the thing we Brits do when we pretend not to notice that drama/action/craziness is being played out right in front of us. Stiff upper lip and all that, LOL!) and it was a believable tale. I also liked that I got two romances for the price of one (in the UK, we love BOGOF deals - Buy One, Get One Free. Bargain!), though the other tale was hinted at and took place mainly off-page, with a glimpse at the end.
It pokes fun a little at the upper echelons of British society, and at the paparazzi and 'celebrity' culture and all that goes with it, with some good laughs, some witty conversation and some really decent characters. It wasn't without fault, though, as in the space of 2 pages, the actual Zeb claimed not to know Dom's name or have ever heard of him, but still went on to spout rhyme and verse about him and his exploits, which did confuse me and make me go back and re-read in case it was my bad, but hey, the tale was good enough for me to overlook this silly issue. Yes, despite this, I liked everything about the tale and it had me laughing out loud more than once and it's certainly one that I can see myself re-reading.
It ends with the leads about to start their HEA and there was no doubt in my mind that this was going to be a HEA.
