I first found this hardcover book at a market stall. As an art student I could not put it down. Not just his level of skill and technique combinations in art, but also his range of wit and depth of insight into human nature, makes him, in my opinion, a most unique artist. He was a war artist and right after the war, a court room illustrator. A most versatile artists career. Now, quite a lot of years later I still adore this book. For me, the St Trinians books that probably made his career, are not the most interesting of his books. Looking at his works is like experiencing an artists playground of endless possiblity. I also have another larger book called simply "Ronald Searle" which has a lot of the Paris collection of works by Ronald Searle.
