"A wonderful narrative of imagination and adventure...!!! My nine year old and I thoroughly enjoyed this story. It stimulates a passion in young minds for adventure and exploration and encourages imagination. It is timely considering the fact that most kids spend their childhood surrounded by walls, not nature and includes a subtle message for parents as well. A thoughtfully written story that can be enjoyed by young and old alike." - Akira and Navoda Alagiyawanna (

My first book Toran and the Alphabet Fairy
uses my elder son's name, and was written for him. When son number two reached the age of two people started asking, "So when are you writing a book for him
Inspired by my own childhood and my experiences as a parent, Ronan's Dinosaur
is about an excessively timid young boy who finds courage through his friendship with a dinosaur. Yes, as you may have already guessed, my elder son was very much into dinosaurs at this point and the spark that ignited the flame was the question, "Were there any dinosaurs in Sri Lanka?"
I admit it will also strike a chord with parents who have to make difficult choices, as in the case of my characters, who have to decide whether to ignore their son's weird behaviour or consult a psychologist about the problem.
