EU Organic products have zero or minimal chemical pesticides or fertilizers, support animal welfare and non-genetically modified standards.
EU Organic products must contain at least 95% organic ingredients. EU Organic production is an overall system of farm management and food production that combines environmental practices, the preservation of natural resources and the application of animal welfare standards. Products must fulfill strict conditions on how they must be produced, processed, transported and stored. The control body code number and place where the agricultural materials of the product have been farmed are displayed next to the EU Organic logo.
USDA Organic products are grown and processed according to standards addressing soil and water quality, among other factors.
USDA Organic products must be produced using farming practices that maintain and improve soil and water quality, minimize the use of synthetic materials, conserve biodiversity, and avoid genetic engineering, among other factors. Crops can be certified organic if they’re grown without prohibited substances such as most synthetic fertilizers and pesticides for three years prior to harvest. Products that contain a minimum of 95 percent organic ingredients and use the USDA Organic seal are part of Climate Pledge Friendly.

We pride ourselves on the quality of our rooibos with no milled rooibos sticks blended back to cut costs, or rooibos dust being added to artificially improve the colour. Our product is one of a few that simply contain pure rooibos leaves, the way rooibos was meant to be enjoyed.
Our Story
MY RED TEA Organic Rooibos Tea is a passion for health, for fairness and for the environment.
I'm a mom of two boys and live in Corte Madera, CA, but still call South Africa my home. I grew up (literally) with Rooibos Tea: a naturally caffeine free beverage that has been used by generations of South Africans- from baby to granny. Inside and out.
Organic, sustainable, ethically farmed products and practices that truly deliver on health and wellness is what MY RED TEA is all about.
MY RED TEA is meaningful. I created MY RED TEA to incorporate you, it’s your red tea, your health and your well being. It also belongs to the farmers and farm workers, its their red tea too and they’re proud of it. 10% of our profits support education in our Rooibos farming communities. We made our first donation to a school for farmworkers in September 2016. In March 2017, we partnered with an after school dance troupe for teenagers in the Clan William area of the Western Cape.
No funny stuff! All our products color and cruelty-free. We NEVER test on animals. We are free of preservatives, colorants or any other artificial ingredients, just 100% Organic and natural. We pride ourselves on the quality of our rooibos with no milled rooibos sticks blended back to cut costs, or rooibos dust being added to artificially improve the colour. Our product is one of a few that simply contain pure rooibos leaves, the way rooibos was meant to be enjoyed.
It’s good for all of us: Studies have shown that Rooibos has some pretty amazing properties. Full of vitamins and minerals, it is a naturally caffeine free, gluten free product with many benefits.
It’s good for the environment: No irrigation is used for Rooibos which often grows in drought like conditions, saving precious water resources. Rooibos is still harvested by hand in much the same way as it has been for hundreds of years.

Sustainable Packaging:
We strive to use packaging and processes that have the least impact on the environment. We selected a packaging supplier who are committed to providing packaging solutions that are environmentally responsible. In 2015, our packaging supplier recycled 399 tons of material.
Limited Production:
MY RED TEA is selective and sources Organic Rooibos from high in the Cederberg mountains.The higher the altitude, the less the rain, the lower the yield, the better the Rooibos. More rugged conditions translate into richer and more dense concentration of the good stuff and flavor.
Giving Back:
10% of our profits support education and culture in our Rooibos farming communities:

Unique red tea
So read about the health benefits of this tea so wanted to try it by it had positive reviews and results. So when it came the box was damaged but the tea inside was still safe in the bags. Taste: it is a red tea so has a very different taste and it takes a few swallows to get accustomed to it but once you adjus to the unique flavor it’s very enjoyable. I prefer my tea straight up no additives (sugar, honey etc) so it took a few cups to be able to appreciate the flavor. I do now really enjoy and have some everyday since purchase. It is on the pricey side. I would have given 5 stars but again damaged package. I haven’t noticed the health benefits except I’m hoping as we start cold and flu season my allergies stay controlled
