About the Author
Jamie McFarlane has been writing short stories and telling tall tales for several decades. With a focus that only a bill collector could inspire, Jamie has finally relented to recording some of his most of requested stories.
During the day Jamie can be found at his home, writing in front of a neglected fire, with his two cats both conveniently named Dragon. When not writing, Jamie can be found at the local pub sharing his stories with any who will listen.

Interestingly, the author adds now characters with each new episode - some of which stick around, and others that don't. It makes for a rich storyline. One mistake I made was skipping #2, "Fool Me Once," because the description didn't talk about the main characters. I think perhaps he should remedy that, because that episode certainly has to do with our characters, but introduces new characters - and a new conflict - that are important later on.
If you liked "Firefly," the Solar Clipper Series by Nathan Lowell, or good old fashion Sci-if, then you should pick this up.
I presume the series novel make more money as readers will "get the next book in line" so they don't have to think about it. Whatever, this is fresh, and told from a young spacers outlook which is refreshing by itself.
Liam and the other characters are fun and easy to relate to, show increasing maturity, and evidence of the effect of their experiences can be seen in each book as their relationships grow and change. I especially enjoy the strong female characters and the warmth and loyalty shared by all of the main group of characters.
New characters are introduced regularly and while some stay and some move on, all of them have an effect on the main group and character development of all is ongoing.
All in all, a great read and I can't wait for the next installment!
