Julia lives in the UK with her husband Malcolm and divides her time between Sussex in the South and Edinburgh in Scotland. From 2011 to 2013, she was the UK Children’s Laureate. Julia writes fiction, poems, plays and songs, as well as picture books. The TV films of The Gruffalo and Room on the Broom have both been nominated for Oscars.

Needs to be made clear this is American! When you've a child obsessed with the book and you buy the board one because the paper one you have is so worn from use then the confusion and tantrum that ensues because the words are AMERICAN!

Bought the board book after our toddler got overexcited and ripped his paperback. Love this story (we now know it off by heart) and the BBC animation but the board book has been changed in a few places for an American audience. First world problem I know but it just isn’t the same!
