Their nicknames and sly friends, Sami and Matt, set them up to be roommates. Each one thinking they’re a boy/girl.
Natalie grew up with a doting dad, but a controlling mother that wants her to have a rich lifestyle. She has a boyfriend, William, one of the elite, but they’re long distance, on again, off again.
Brad has a loving mother and annoying big brother, but all have worked hard for human to make it in hockey.
When Brad and Natalie meet, you can tell they’re a little hesitant of each other, trying to deny what’s really there. (And pissed at their friends for doing this to them)
I didn’t like Brad that much, especially when he sleeps around, but when him and Nat start bonding over video games and cooking, oh, they are just too sweet together (And very realistic, me being a gamer myself!)! And when they argue, it’s kind of funny at parts and I found myself laughing out loud.
Their journey through how they change each other is predictable, but sweet at the same time.
This gets 4 PIGGIES!!
All that sounds good but I give it three stars because of the secondary message the author gives us. In this fictional world of twenty somethings sex is on their brains all the time. If they act on it they become sluts and manwhores. If they don't, then they over indulge in alcohol to the extent of morning hangovers multiple times in a week. So basically these characters are damned if they do and damned if they don't. I struggled with this and therefore give a cautious recommendation.
Natalie is trying to stand on her two feet when she soon finds out that her roommate is Brady and not a girl. After the initial shock wears off, they become perfect roommates before taking a step further. I think it worked out in the end but so many times I wanted to slap him for being so childish. I really couldn't connect much with his character, but it's a cute read.
