Ethan Fitzell has been avoiding his stepsister since their parents got married, but when she shows up at his apartment uninvited, he realizes her absence has only made his heart grow fonder.
Jenny
He’s the last guy on earth I want to ask for a favor.
But I only need his couch for a few days. It’s hardly the big imposition he pretends it is.
Yet five minutes in his frosty company is all it takes to make the memories come flooding back...
The way I used to crave his attention.
The way I used to ache for his touch.
How anxious I felt the night that game of spin the bottle spun out of control...
I still remember how the color drained from my face when everyone turned to look at me. I wasn't even playing, wasn't even invited to the party.
“Looks like you’ve gotta kiss Jen,” some jock said to Ethan.
Panic pummeled my heart as I realized my feelings for him were going to be found out.
But Ethan just laughed it off. “Yeah, that’s not happening. She’s my sister.”
“Not really, though,” his buddy insisted.
The popular kids around him laughed and jeered like jungle predators while my cheeks burst into flames.
“Don’t be stupid,” Ethan said, tilting a can of beer over his mouth.
When his friend spun the bottle again, Ethan glanced over at me one last time and wiped the back of his hand across his lips.
I’ve been wondering what it would be like to kiss him ever since...
**This is a full-length, standalone romance with no cliffhanger and no cheating. It is intended for a mature audience and has an ending that will leave you smiling so hard it hurts.

"I really enjoyed this story and it flowed well. Hazel Kelly is a new author to me and I'm glad I came across this book. Everything was just enough- the drama, the chemistry, it wasn't overdone and the story was about them and how'd they'd fell in love at first sight and the events leading up to that. I look forward to reading more of Hazel's books." - Sabrina P.

"This story of a relationship that has built on the love at first sight ideology, and developed over the years, has turned this into an enjoyable time out read. It is quick and easy to read, with enough drama to give a little depth but keep you hooked in the story." - Opinionated
"With all the romance books out there, it's still hard to find heroines I can get behind, but I really liked this one. Not only does she feel like an actual human being, but she's a fairly reasonable woman. I'll be looking for the author's work in the future." - Becca
"The love between Ethan and Jenny throughout the years was so touching. Loved Roommates so much. I couldn't get enough of these two reconnecting and finally revealing their true feelings. I really hope there will be more of these two!" - Becky A.

"The lives of Ethan and Jennifer could have turned out very different if not for the ups and downs. Read it so you can see for yourself how good comes to those who speak their minds rather than hide behind social stigma. You won't be disappointed!" - Audra Ennis

I give this one three and a half stars, because while I don't buy that they should have been subjected to feelings of guilt when they were teenagers, and things could have turned out so wrongly different, Jenny and Ethan did have a sweetly happy ending
I enjoyed this couple's story. Ethan and Jen were likeable, Ethan was really hot, and I liked the way they supported and encouraged each other. I did feel that as adults they spent too much time stressing out about the fact that they were step sibling who were attracted to each other. After all, they weren't blood-related and they were adults now. I have read other books about step siblings who became romantically involved. This one views the situation from a different perspective.
Hazel Kelly is a new to me author but I am telling you I will definitely be reading more of her books. Five stars easy!!!!

Good girl theatre geek and bad boy jock.
“I mean now that you’re here, it feels like I’ve found something I misplaced.”
Jen hasn’t seen her stepbrother, Ethan, in years. So she’s pretty nervous when she realises that he doesn’t know that she’s coming to sleep on his couch in NYC for a few days. At fourteen, she had a massive crush him. Then a year later, he became part of her family. He always noticed her but rarely spoke to her.
Ethan escaped halfway across the country to get away from Jen and his forbidden, desperate desire for her. He’s completely unprepared for her reappearance in his life.
“What I wanted most was to know what it felt like to be inside her. Deep. Like she’d always been in me.”
After a shaky start, Jen and Ethan make a go of being friends, but the sexual tension and uncertainty between them makes for a charged atmosphere. When Jen is subjected to an unpleasant experience, Ethan’s true feelings for her start to come out, and their relationship is pushed across the line of no return.
I wanted a quick read and, yeah, I’m a sucker for this genre! I thoroughly enjoyed it because it was funny and not overly angsty. I loved the banter between them. Jen is sweet and honest, but confident, and can be direct. Ethan is charming, smart and tough, and also direct, although his blunt teasing masks what he wants. There’s no messing with anyone’s feelings, just two people who were uncertain teenagers, ruled by a militant father, and grew up to be confident adults and having the courage to go for what they want, regardless of what their parents may think.

Jenny and Ethan noticed each other at school, both had crushed in each other, BUT they never really spoke , until their parent got married....

I thought the characters were sweet and they had instant chemistry.
It was nice to see a sweet story coming together for once, rather than the ‘I’m going to make you miserable but you still love me’ stories. I liked how Ethan didn’t hide his feelings at all. It was obvious with how he acted towards Jenny. Hers weren’t exactly hidden away, either, but the obvious anxiety of being wrong about the other made this even sweeter.
