About the Author
SHOSHANA KOBRIN, MA, LMFT was born in Johannesburg, South Africa. After taking a master’s degree in literature, she pioneered a multi-cultural communications program during apartheid in South Africa. Interest in intercultural group dynamics led to a master’s degree in clinical psychology and her psychotherapy license. For many years, Kobrin has been consulting, teaching, training, public speaking, and facilitating workshops and retreats professionally and in the community. Topics are food addiction, creative writing, effective communication, and personal enrichment. She provides continuing education for nurses. A Reiki practitioner and master Reiki teacher, she treats both people and animals. Kobrin’s defines her spiritual and creative life as “connection in many spheres of life.” For thirty-three years, she has lived in Walnut Creek, California. She is a dedicated Vipassana meditator, and enjoys lap swimming, choral singing, jazz piano improvisation, ceramic figure sculpture, and walking her miniature poodle, Frankie.
