A few years later I prayed this 54 day rosary novena again and received a nice email in December 2006 from a gentleman who lived in the same state as I did. We corresponded for a few months on the website, talked on the phone, and finally met in person on March 19th, 2006 (St. Joseph's Feast Day!). We met at my church and prayed a rosary together. Later on, I brought him over to my house to meet my Mom and sister. We enjoyed a wonderful St. Patrick's Day meal together (He even bought us Irish Soda bread - my favorite!)and took a lovely walk around my neighborhood. When it was time for him to leave, he expressed disappointment he couldn't see me the following Saturday due to a previous appointment he already had scheduled. But two weeks later he returned and we had another nice day together. We continued seeing each other all spring and summer. September 17th, 2006, he asked me to marry him. I was shocked, but of course said yes! His words: "And we're keeping the cat." LOL! We picked June 16th 2007, the Feast of the Immaculate Heart of Mary as our wedding day to thank God and Our Lady for bringing us together!
We just celebrated our 4th anniversary! We thank God and Our Lady every day for bringing us together, blessing us with a happy marriage, and answering our prayers! Good things DO come to those who wait! I highly recommend praying this novena! It is very POWERFUL! You too will receive answers to your prayers! May God Bless you!
I think that anyone who is praying this particular novena should not go by what other veteran Catholics are suggesting that one should just pray only the three mysteries - Joyful,Sorrowful and Glorious - considering that was the only ones included when the Blessed Virgin Mary appeared to Fortuna Agrelli when the novena was instituted back in 1884.It was evident that she was asked to pray each mysteries for nine days for petition and thanksgiving respectively to make up for 54 days. I suggest that including the Luminous Mystery during the days of novena is better since it is already part of the mysteries of the rosary and it allows us to meditate on the public life of Jesus as well.
If any Catholic wants to really follow the instructions of the Blessed Virgin to Fortuna of praying each of the 4 mysteries of the rosary for 9 days both in petition and thanksgiving,I suggest that trying the 72-day rosary novena. It maybe longer but anyone who goes through the novena either 54 days or 72 days will be blessed for God and Mary appreciates our efforts in prayer despite our sinfulness and weaknesses.
The rosary is considered a powerful prayer and spiritual weapon. Numerous Catholics have never been disappointed with it as it has worked throughout the centuries since it was introduced by Saint Dominic back in the 13th centuries. One way to become accustomed to it is to pray the 54-day novena. Lacey's book provides guidance and prayers during its days that will accompany the rosary. While Catholics who aren't used to praying it daily will also be guided on how to pray the rosary and this novena as well. Anyone wanting to have the best relationship possible with the Blessed Virgin Mary should pray the rosary and this book helps in do that. Besides, isn't the best way possible of getting to Jesus is through his mother Mary as shown in the Wedding of Cana?
Personally, many intentions I have sought to Mama Mary by praying the rosary have been fulfilled. Even my fellow Amazon reviewers have attested to that and have made them known in their own reviews.
