About the Author
Jeffree Wyn Itrich began telling stories as soon as she could speak and began putting them down on paper when she learned to write. A child with an active imagination (maybe even too active!) she saw stories all around her. She was mesmerized by fairy tales, because in truth they seemed quite real. For years she was sure that elves lived in her family’s garden, and that if she paid just a bit more attention that she would see fairies flitting around in the starlight. When Jeffree was 10 or 11, her mother gave her the first of many blank books in which to write. She has been writing ever since.

This is a fairy tale, so of course, disbelief must be suspended. However, it's a wonderful approach to teaching kids about opening up to the world, the cycles of life, and the magic found in nature.
Although this book is meant for younger children (probably a good transition to chapter books), the black and white illustrations and lively prose will interest younger readers who read along with mom or dad.
In a sea of kid's books, this one stands out.
The Rosebaby is a comforting story about a mother's love for her child with the added bonus of spring, renewal and having faith all mixed in. Together with its delightful black-and-white illustrations, The Rosebaby is a wonderful find!
