Design seems poorly implemented in areas. I cracked my bottom filter while moving the case around because it was in a location where it felt to natural to lift the thing and ended up sliding on me resulting is some 'interesting' fumbling. The front has a part that slides off for accessing the front bays. Accidentally slid that off at least 3 times during the build process. All the screws are in one big bag, not exactly brilliant. Used like 10 different glasses to sort them all out, thankfully the manual was quite useful for identifying them, which leads me to my next point.
For the most part documentation is just not there. Very little explanation to no explanation for all the wires. i.e. the fans, the fan controller, and the front inputs. Strangely enough, what documentation that is there is there is among the best I've seen with the clearest diagrams of all my parts.
Lot of negative there but honestly I like this case quite a bit. The fans are doing their job spectacularly, with a little research you can get the fans hooked up to the controllers and the front panel wires all done. The build quality of everything seemed solid except for the exceptions I listed. The things huge, which is a big plus for a first time builder, more bays then I'll ever use.Read more ›
I swapped out all my components from a Cooler Master Storm Trooper for this NightHawk. They are comparable in size meaning it is just as large as my original case was...being an ATX full tower it is VERY large. Depending on your personal needs and wants for a case, that could very easily be a good or bad thing. For me, I need to have a large case. This one provides a lot of room to work in and to house large components. As you can tell, my full sized ATX Asus X99 Deluxe motherboard fits with plenty of room to spare. Also, the very large (and very wide) EVGA GTX 980ti fits with plenty of room as well. The only issue here was that the holes and screws that hold the card into place didn't feel like they were machined to perfectly match each other. It took a little wiggling to get them to go in all the way.
I really appreciated how the bottom of the case has openings to allow for PSU air intake from the bottom, but also room for a fan to draw in air from the bottom as well. The air fins at the top are VERY cool and allow for great air flow along with some awesome visuals. The included fans in the front and back provide adequate air flow, but I would personally swap them out in the future. There is plenty of room for multiple SSD and HDD in this case and each of the trays permit mounting of both 2.5" and 3.5" drives natively. The case has easy to remove panels on both sides and permits easy and very customizeable cable management throughout. The window in the main panel allows you to see inside at all times which is great for display purposes and for being able to see your CPU LCD panel for diagnosis purposes.Read more ›
