Gets the job done. Have used a boat load of these and only had a few fail. However, they do NOT like the new BIOS on Asus motherboards. If you have one of these hooked up to most of the newer Asus boards with the UEFI BIOS interface, it will cause most of the boards to either not boot at all, or cause a MAJOR slow down in the booting process (2-3 min). It is hit and miss but more often than not, it will be a problem even if you flash the BIOS to the latest version. I had about 10 of the latest B75 chipset and a couple of the Z68 Asus boards in a row that would not boot with this unit hooked up. Just be aware. Other than that, they work great on older boards.

It works, easy to install, looks good. It has faceplates for black or silver, which is nice I guess. Connects to USB header pin and SATA port.

The SD card slot is upside down, not a big deal, but just be aware. Everything works and it looks to be well built, and the price was awesome (I got it on sale). Will most likely be getting a Rosewill USB 3.0 internal reader like this in the near future and moving this one to another desktop.

I installed this in a new build. When I turned the computer on it did not find my Hard drive (HDD) during boot up. PC asked for bootable media. The boot order was set to DVD, HDD, network, then USB in the BIOS. I changed the order to boot from HDD first but it still was not found during the boot process. I had to disable network and USB boot option in BIOS to get my PC to boot. The USB ports work on the device but it did not read my mini-SD card on first use. Had to reinsert it several times for the device to read my card. This is an item that will get infrequent use but is nice to have when needed. Its nice when you add a peripheral into your computer and it works without issues BUT any experienced PC user knows conflicts are not uncommon with the myriad of hardware combinations found in a PC. Just have to figure out the conflict when I have the time and desire to do so. Installation was a breeze. Just make sure you have an available SATA, Power, and USB connection available in your PC.

I installed this reader into my machine no problems (you will need a map of your motherboard). Works perfectly as I hoped.

I'm running Win7 64bit.

No complaints.

First one: This card reader works well, and it has a feature that many don't - a DC 5V out. It's worked perfectly, and you can use the USB ports at the same time as the card reader, which I've seen people complain about with other card readers.

2nd one: Works. It looks good as well.

This unit was purchased during the build of new gaming rig. It didn't last too long before I started have problems with both the full SD and Micro SD slots. When it worked, it worked well. The quality was nothing to write home about, but it worked. 3 stars AFTER the unit was discarded, 4 stars previously.

Install was fairly painless, you need a power connector, usb 2.0 port and sata connector open on the motherboard. It came with the mounting screws. Installed it's not completely flush with the case but it's close. The product feels cheap in construction but what do you expect for $16. A blue led come on and stays on. Windows 7 took a while to locate the drivers but it installed 5 removable drives for each of the card reader slots. I tried a SD card and it was odd at 1st because I had to put the card in upside down and it only goes in maybe half way and feels tight to get in because of the plastic bezel but the system did read it. The 3 usb 2.0 ports worked. I do not have any other cards or a eSata drive to try at the moment so fingers are crossed. There are usb 3.0 versions of this type of device but I didn't have a connector on the motherboard. I think if I could have found a better quality piece from a better manufacturer I might have gone that route but if you don't want to spent a lot it's not the worst choice.

It works as planned but will not accept a mini SDCH memory card. You'll need a mem card adapter for that. It's much easier to plug in a mini USB cable to your PC. I did like the extra face plate, I use the silver one as it matches my case. Depending on your PC case, this unit can be difficult to screw in place and you may need to improvise your own fastening system to make it secure. Basically it fills a vacant 3.5" drive bay. I do use the 3 USB 2.0 ports for a total of 5 USB 2.0 on the front of my case.
