One word of warning - be careful not to tilt the tongs past ninety degrees when using the Rosle locking tongs to remove hot spaghetti, fettucine or other pasta from boiling water or the boiling water will run down the inside channels of the tongs and onto your hand. In other words, keeps the tongs pointed down or slightly below horizontal when lifting the hot pasta to ensure that any hot water runs or drip down and does not flow up the inside of the tongs and onto your hand.
The only downside of these tongs is the relatively high cost and the fact that these tongs, and most of the Rosle line, are now manufactured in China (hence the 4 star rating rather than 5). As to the cost, the quality of the Rosle products offsets that complaint. All the Rosle products I have purchased, used and given as gifts, are sufficiently superior that I don't object to the premium price. I just wish that they were made in Germany rather than China.Read more ›
There is one thing that really bothered me. All the other Rösle item I have purchased have clearly had stamped into the metal "Germany". This one came with an adhesive label saying "Made in China". While I am not a China basher, this is not what I paid for. This is the only reason I gave the item four rather than five stars.
1.) They are elegant, nicely constructed with just the right weight.
2.) The one handed locking mechanism has surpassed my expectations and works as well as it did on day one.
3.) Very secure grip, you can apply as much pressure as you want and they will not wane. Some of the others I have would twist slightly on high pressure.
4.) The scalloped shape of the clasps is just the right compromise for a variety of foods.
1.) The price is high for the amount of metal. Though the finish quality is fantastic. I think you get what you pay for in this case.

We had a lot of fun trying to figure out the trick for how to open and lock these tongs. It definitely wasn't obvious to us! But, once we figured out the trick they work well! Read morePublished 1 month ago by LC
Love these tongs. I use non-stick pans as well as high-end stainless that I don't want to nick and scratch. Read morePublished 1 month ago by Brio

We really like the idea of the tongs, but they do not work as well as others we have used. They randomly will pop open in the drawer, and sometimes difficult to get them to... Read morePublished 4 months ago by Royal Knox
The quality of these tongs are great but the locking system ruins the product. There is a small pin that runs horizontal to these tongs and is supposed to fall when they are lifted... Read morePublished 5 months ago by Amazon Customer
