This whisk doen't rest on the edge of the pan, it is poorly balanced. The wires on the whisk of a large flat whisk should be at least two inches longer.When my decades-old cheap ordinary flat whisk finally gave out after thousands of uses, I decided to go with Rösle this time around.Wow, what a small whisk! Some people will appreciate the light weight and smaller size. If you need small and light tools, rejoice - this is your flat whisk!Whipping up some eggs to scramble and don't want to use a fork, or for some light stirring of a small amount of dry ingredients -- this whisk is fine. But get the 2-1/2 quart out to make a medium roux for gumbo or a nice garlic white cream sauce and this whisk is just too short for dealing with hot oils and larger jobs. My old, cheap whisk was much better.Anybody that makes sauces but lacks a flat whisk really must try a flat whisk!In spite of its imported origin, the quality appears to be as good as the brand has ever been. The proof will come some months from now when we see if the "stainless steel" rusts.This is a very poor value for the money at the price I paid, which I see as I write this review has gone up a couple of dollars.There are other stainless flat whisks for about seven bucks on Amazon that are probably as good as this one. I have other whisks that have the white resin at the joint between their stainless handle and wires - those were big, good, and not very expensive at the high falootin' cooking store in town.Going with Rösle in the past was always as much about design and material as craft, and then paying for that combination to get real value.I'm fighting the urge to return this, and definitely looking for a longer whisk with a longer wire section and a longer handle too.
