Product Description

With the ComfortSeat Lumbar Support System, you can set the amount of lower back muscle support you need for your individual comfort while driving. Tucked away inside the driver or passenger seat, the Lumbar Support System provides the precise amount of extra lumbar support to your lower back, decreasing lumbar strain at your command. With just the touch of a finger, the seat or console-mounted switch activates a pneumatic motor filling the bladder within the seat. Make every drive a comfortable drive. The ComfortSeat Lumbar Support Systems are designed to be universal, however, prior to installing the unit, you'll want to inspect the construction of your seat to determine whether or not you will need a front-mount or rear-mount interior bladder. Front-mount units are installed between the inner foam and outer material of your seat, while rear-mount bladders are used in situations where your seat's exterior material is bonded (glued or stitched) to the supporting inner foam material.

Quality bits for an universe kit. Instructions were awesome. Any decent Auto DIY'er can handle this. Im trained in the field and have extensive tools and materials and was able to to do a OEM level install in just 2.5 hrs. That includes test fitting and adjustment on a 2017 Subaru WRX limited (which has well known terrible seats) with all its electrics and air bags in the seat. If i showed all the bits installed you would think its stock.
I haven't even driven on it yet and i like it.
Ill update if i have any complaints or reliability issues.

It works great, was pretty easy to install. My only complaint is with the length of the cabling. You don't get a lot of options to install the switch. If you are installing it in a manual seat that doesn't have a switch panel on the side made out of plastic, you will have to get creative. I made it work in the center console but it was a pain.

I really like the item. You can unzip the rear of the seat, unlatch a few clips, slide in the (thin) lumbar support between the metal springs and the rear foam to install it. You don't need any additional aftermarket clips like I had thought I might need. After that, hook the airhose to the pump, connect the electric to the pump, then test it. You'll need just a positive and negative lead for power. You'll need a dremel to cut the switch in the plastic shroud on the seat. Use the bit that cuts plastic and use the very LOWEST speed setting or else it could jump and cut past the limit of what you need cut. Zip tie the lumbar support to the metal springs, and zip tie the pump under the seat, reattach clips, rezip and it's done. It pumps up just fine and made things more comfortable for short and long trips.

It works, unfortunately the bladder fills up like a ball instead of and oval so you end up with something jamming into your spine instead of the entire low back. That being said, I still use it and like it bc it’s better than nothing!

Initially I intended to install it myself but I found an upholstery shop that installed it flawlessly. The shop was very familiar with the Rostra product line and agreed to install my lumbar . Best decision I made with the shop install! The switch works and looks oem as the lumbar itself.
The Rostra lumber is 110 percent worth it all around! Highly recommend!!!
