Roswell. Dean Dreiser, an agent for U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (UCSIS), was in Roswell New Mexico at the White Sands Missile Range. It is hot. It is dusty. It is sandy. Dreiser is miserable in this uncomfortable little town with its rather unwelcoming and odd mixture of residents. His new partner, Dr Lucinda Brown, are there to investigate a rather disturbing body found disintegrating in the desert.
Lucy is one of the leading molecular scientists in the field but she is without field experience; sparks fly as Dean tries to protect Lucy in spite of herself, while trying to protect himself and whatever the hideous disease that overtook the man in the desert from reaching the townspeople. A disease that seems to have been manufactured.
Working undercover at a local bar, Lucy and Dean race to determine who is behind this horrid biological weapon and why. As more bodies are discovered in the desert, Lucy soon figures out that the weapon is not fully ready as each body found reveals someone is fine tuning the bacteria to kill at an exact pace following a very exacting and horrific method of dying.
Now that your nails are bitten to the quick, continue reading as Lucy and Dean work together to save the odd little town of Roswell from biological weapon annihilation. And fan the flames of romance that have developed from those initial sparks of seeming incompatibility.

Roswell’s Secret is book two in Defending America series. Vannetta Chapman has hit this series out of the ball park, a winning series. She grabbed me at the start and I was hooked. This is a fast paced romance suspense thriller that will have you on the edge of your seat and trying to read faster to see what is going to happen next. I did not want to put it down. If you read this at night, be prepared for a sleepless night. The story and the characters, both are so real like. I caught myself holding my breath several times throughout the story. At one time there were so many tears that I had to stop and wipe my eyes before I could continue. I hope that I never have to go through anything like this. I loved Dean and Dr. Lucy. They are on a mission defending America. You do not know who to trust, even someone you think you know. Trust no one. Will they survive the terrorist ,biological weapons, and the secret in the night skies of Roswell? I absolutely loved this series and I highly recommend it .
The Author brings us a story that is so real you will think you are listening to the daily news, and we again wonder why people do the things that they do. We do get a reprieve, a small one in the form of a sweet romance between Dean, we met in the first book, and Dr. Lucy, but we soon realize probably no one is going to survive.
I found myself wanting to cheat and look at the end of the book, it is that full of reality, but I resisted the urge and keep on page-turning, but oh so tempting.
Let’s hope that what is written here never happens, and the people we depend on will stay committed to our freedoms and our way of life.
Thank you, Vannetta Chapman, for a reality read, and let’s hope it is not based on any fact.
I received this book from the Author, and was not required to give a positive review.
No one asked me to read nor review either Coyote's Revenge nor Roswell's Secret. I bought these books and had a hard time putting them down. (No choice-had to get ready for Christmas at my house) Both books are a little edgy or gritty but they are still clean, wholesome Christian suspense. Highly recommend both of these books. They can be read as stand alones but I recommend both of them. I love Vannetta's Amish books but her Christian Romantic Suspense is tops.
This is a clean book with no bad language or embarrassing bedroom scenes. The main characters have good morals. Although I would not classify this as “Christian fiction”, it is an appropriate book for those who like to read that genre. Vannetta Chapman is master at writing mystery and suspense, and her readers will not be disappointed in any way by this book.
Book 2 in the Defending America series is amazing. You will want to put all things aside and get right into this book.
Who do you trust! Whose the bad guy or your friend? Making those determinations in this book is hard and you will just be compelled to keep reading till you find out.
The plot is something so possibly realistic and is totally plausible. Suffice it to say, you will not want to pass up this book.
