This bag is so simple yet it's great for everything. I've been using it for about a year and a half consistently. I store my iPad, and some other smaller items (passport notebooks, 3DS XL, 12oz thermos) and it fits all I need for my day perfectly. The front pockets are too small for my iPhone 6+ but they're perfect for my wallet and spare phone charger. I definitely recommend this. I've taken it hiking, to the beach, to school and work. Because it's cotton I think I can paint it later this year, by for now the plethora of buttons work for me.

First, let me get the dimensions out of the way. The official measurements of the bag are 10" x 8" x 3.5". It's 100% cotton and made in India. It seems to be a very sturdy bag. I pulled and stretched it every which way, and it didn't pop a seam or tear in two. The strap is long enough to wear the bag at my hip and could go lower (I'm of average height).

The mechanism that holds the main compartment closed does take some effort to open and close. But it's secure, and can be left undone if you're going to be going in and out of the bag frequently. The main flap also overlaps the front velcro pockets a bit. Those front pockets are very slim, and can't store much. But the main compartment fits more than I thought it would.

All thing considered, this is a good bag. And a great bag, when you consider the price.

I have no complaints with this bag. It's made out of stiff canvas, which relaxes in time, but largely remains rather rigid. That's something that I like about the bag, though, so I can't deduct any points for it. It's rather small, but you can tell that from its dimensions. I like the size. I can fit 3 -4 books in the bag, which is the reason I wear it. I think the best part about the bag is that I don't look like a woman when I'm wearing it. That's important to me.

I generally buy military style bags to use as purses because I find the fabric & straps more durable (this bag is no exception) and the style is less "girly" which suits me. I really like the size of this bag, even when full it's not huge & bulky and I try to travel pretty light so I've never been unable to stuff everything I need inside: paperbacks, cell phone, makeup case, extra T-shirt, wallet & checkbook, sunglasses, hat, etc. all at once. I can even avoid lugging along the diaper bag because a couple diapers, travel wipes, a few toys, burp rags, bottle, etc. all fit easily into this bag along with my wallet & checkbook too.

It's probably perfect for a day trip, but there are a couple of things I really don't like about using it as a purse. There are no small zippered compartments anywhere, so you're limited to two smaller outside velcro pockets (cell phone fits nicely), and the velcro for one of these started to fall off my bag after about two weeks. My largest complaint is that if you don't fill it up pretty full it looks rather silly because the top flap cannot be cinched down very tightly due to the location of the bottom strap sewn into the center of the bag. This also means that if it's not full there are loose gaps on either side at the top where things can fall out if it falls on the floor. I guess this alleviates needing to uncinch the strap every time I want something inside because my hands can easily slide in through the top corners & pull out what I need, but I would really prefer to be able to cinch it more tightly closed.

I purchased this product to use as an every day handbag. It arrived with a small hole in the back of the handbag. Once the bag was filled with my normal daily purse items, the bag would flip forward. The straps on this bag are attached to far down on the sides causing it flip and not lay flat upright. I ended up giving this item to my husband to use in his boat for tool storage, as it wasn't worth my time to send back. You truly get what you pay for!

Now that full bird guides, GPS topo maps, tide information, and location PDFs can all be on a tablet, the only thing missing is a bag that will hold the tablet IN it's "day use" cover, a pair of binoculars, cell phone, camera, and charger for the tablet.

A quick search shows many bags, priced $30 and up, that do some of these things, but poorly.

This is the bag that does all of them, and for around $10.

Zipper tops are a pain when you want your guide in your hand on the beach, for an odd shore bird. Flap-top bags that won't stay closed without buckling are sand traps. Flap-top bags that let water in the sides when the top is closed are, well, not appropriate to any electronic gear.

The flap has enough mass to stay shut while on the move. When going into a crowded place where the risk of a tablet lift gets higher, the flap straps down easily, thanks to the metal tip on the strap. The strap and buckle may not be the fastest release, but refer back to tablet-lift-risk. NO one is going to sneak the tablet out with the straps cinched down!

The stitching looks acceptable for a bag at this price point. The layout should keep stress on stress points low enough that it will last a while. The canvas is solid, and not mildewy on delivery.

If you have a tablet the size of the Samsung Galaxy Note devices, this bag is worth checking out!
