At first it felt like it didn’t fit. I used the awl from my pocket knife to ever so slightly break in the opening of the cartridge and it snapped right in. I thought that I might break it if I simply pressed too hard. The first two worked so well that I’ve ordered two more.

Haven't tried it yet in the pen, but it looks like just what I need. Probably could give it 5 stars when I finish the cartridge in the pen and fill the converter.

I have now used the converter several times and I love it. It allows me to fill the Rotring pen with Noodler's Bulletproof black ink. Love the combination. The Rotring pens are the smoothest writing and drawing pens for my artwork and calligraphy and the converter fits perfectly and works seamlessly.

The converter works well, and holds slightly more ink than an international short cartridge. The design is nice and suits the ArtPen pretty well. I also _really_ like how the red ring helps indicate exactly where the end of the piston is.

The downside is that I can't see any way to disassemble it. I had to take off a star because of this. It can be annoying to get perfectly clean, so I put some Rapido-Eze in there and let it sit for a few hours. The ink that was stuck in the connecting bit (or maybe it was stained? it was a red, after all) came out easily after that. But, if you use the same ink all the time it doesn't matter in the least.

Would I buy it for another brand of pen? Maybe, maybe not. But for compatible Rotring pens this is the one to get.

Reading other reviews, I was a bit worried that the converter wouldn't fit my Rotring fountain pen. But it fit perfectly with no effort. No leaks, draws ink from the bottle well. I would add though that it is expensive for what it is. But that's the cost of needing a "long tail" product. Literally.

I'd happily give this more stars if it was truly a Rotring product. It does not appear to be. Doesn't fit my Rotring art pen as was advertised. Says it will fit a Rotring fountain pen, but that isn't what I was looking for. Too small to fit over the part of the nib that holds the ink, rattles around in the barrel and seller doesn't allow buyer to return items. I am quite upset because I spent money on an unusable product that was falsely advertised.

The Rotring Art Pen is one of my favorite sketching pens, but I really dislike the cartridge refills because of the limited choice of inks. This converter allows for you to use any ink you want. Not quite as handy as carrying extra cartridges, but you can easily carry a small vial or more of ink. You can refill empty cartridges with a blunt needle syringe, but you cannot carry extra refilled cartridges since there is no cap.
