Bruce and Allison were high school sweethearts and the first everything for each other...When Allison goes off to college, she and Bruce breakup due to several misunderstandings....and their lives move in different directions.....but they never really got over each other...Ten years later, fate intervenes, and Bruce finds himself at a peewee football practice refereeing a fight, when he sees Allyson, again, and realizes she’s back in town, and her son, Cooper, is on the team he’s now agreed to help coach...And Bruce has waited 10 years for Allyson, and he has a chance of getting the life he’s always wanted....And, heaven help anyone who tries to stand in his way....♥️🌼🔥
ROUGH LOVE is the first Tannen brothers book, and it’s a great second chance romance....If you loved The Bennett Brothers Series, you will, for sure, love this book... And if you haven’t read The Bennett Brothers Series, now might be a good time...I loved Bruce and Allyson!!! ♥️🌼🔥
Because of their father's gambling debts, the Tannen's lost the family farm to their rivals, well not really rivals anymore, the Bennett's. Now the Tannen brothers Brody, Bruce and Bobby work for the Bennett family. One big, happy family...well they try to get along, especially since their baby sister Shayanne is married to Luke Bennett.
Bruce Tannen, star football player in high school nicknamed Brutal, is the strong, silent type. Always watching, always listening. Bruce had big plans for college ball and beyond, but life got in the way and changed his future, much the way it had for Allyson. When Bruce was younger his focus was on two specific areas, football and Allyson. He lost both. Now his main focus is on family and the farm.
With Bruce's extensive knowledge of the game, he is approached to help coach peewee football. He's all in but he never expected to come face to face with his past-the one woman he loved and lost, Allyson. Allyson is just as surprised to see Bruce coaching her son's peewee football team. The past wasn't kind, the way they ended, the broken hearts. When Allyson left for college, life hadn't gone as planned. She's fought hard for the woman she is today. Allyson and Bruce had their life planned. They were supposed to get their HEA. Could this be their second chance, or is the risk just too big to take?
YOUNG LOVE THAT WAS LOST BUT NEVER FORGOTTEN ! SIZZLING, EXPLOSIVE CHEMISTRY WITH CHARACTERS SO REAL, I WAS HOOKED FROM THE FIRST PAGE !
WILD, ROUGH AND RAW ! LAUREN SCORED A TOUCHDOWN WITH THIS READ ! ! ! I CAN'T WAIT FOR MORE !
“This is more than we had when we were young, more than I dreamed I’d ever have now, with Allyson or anyone. Even when we’re rough and filthy, it’s with love.”
The sexual tension is off the charts, a second chance love story, a frustrating heart squeezer along with the cohesive yet missing pieces to be whole puzzle dynamic. *Phew* I need to sit down!
Having Mamma Bennet sticking her nose into the Tannen’s lives is a major happy place for me! I like seeing the differences and similarities.
I was soo curious as to what as the twists kept pulling me in further- I didn’t know who was going to break first!
High heat, High emotion, humorous and sweet well-rounded treat. Gah. Another book from Ms. Landish that has left me wanting more!
Personally every story in this series gets better and better, I'm so hooked on these cowboys, their family life and strife, the women who accept and love them just how they are and especially Mama Louise. Plus I'm a fan of real life conflict and with this book you can FEEL the emotions of both Bruce and Al, feel the pain of loss, feel both of them unsure how to act around each other and it's a real situation they're dealing with. Also I'm a bit of a football fan, have a couple boys who play high school and lit up when Bruce was daydreaming about watching MNF with Al and Cooper because that's our thing, bonding over a good game. I'm looking forward to the next book!

I very much enjoyed the slow burn. It was lovely to watch them get to know one another again. I was desperate to find out what had happened to allyson in her previous relationship, there was breadcrumbs thrown it on the lead up to her owning up to Bruce. It wasn’t as dramatic as I thought it would but still rugged at my heart a bit. Their chemistry was wild and I did enjoy the dirty talk. Some maybe slightly OTT but still liked it.
I enjoyed the interactions with Bruce’s family
But what a great way to get through what is a tough time for everyone at the moment than to sit back and unwind with a Cowboy Romance. Especially one which features the gorgeous Bennett brothers, and their neighbours the Tannens.
And this was a fantastic story that had the added bonus of being a second chance romance with a single parent to boot and although I did find it a little difficult to get into, which has been a common theme for me lately. I did enjoy it a lot, as the story was rich with emotion, extremely captivating, and the romance sweet and sexy. Not to mention the appearances of the Bennetts plentiful plus the wonderful Mama Louise was around to keep everyone in order and dole out a ton of advice and care, and really bring the family aspect of this story together.
And I would happily recommend it to others, and I am looking forward to diving straight into book two.
I am downloading the next book even as I write this review!
