Clem never thought she would get pregnant again. After having had two miscarriages she didn't want to go through that heart break again. She is so tired and is losing weight.
Doc comes to the ranch and tells her he wants to see her in his office the next morning. They ran some blood tests and find out she is pregnant but the tiredness is from her having Leukemia. She has to make a decision. Keep her baby that she always wanted or possibly die before she delivers him.
Doctor told he didn't think she could survive without starting treatments right away.
Boone is upset with her. He knows he can't live without her again. He did that many years ago when she left him at the altar and went in the service.
She's his heart. He loves her so much. He can't deal with the thought of losing her. Rose, their adopted daughter is upset too. She already lost one set off parents.
Clem can't give up on having this baby. Boone feels like she is being selfish.
In the meantime a tornado goes through their ranch and the main house is destroyed with Ethan and his Mom, Winnie were inside. Winnie ended with a broken wrist. Ethan was buried under the rubble. Scarlet, his Mom's little dog, should them where he was trapped.
He had a bad concussion and a broken leg. Boone ended up with stitches in his thigh went he was trying to protect his Dad during the storm.
Great story of a family pulling together through this tough time.
Boone doesn't give up on Clem or his little boy. Made me cry several times while reading this book.

And I cried...a lot!I have come to love this fictional family as much as my own and so this tumultuous journey had my emotions all over the place. I so adore Clem and Boone that the heartbreaks they go through I was right there with them. I have come to love this fictional family as much as my own and so this tumultuous journey had my emotions all over the place. I so adore Clem and Boone that the heartbreaks they go through I was right there with them. Leave it to Kelly to mend my heart and theirs in a most gratifying way.
I will always look forward to more Whiskey River Road stories.
