I purchased these pans to make a birthday cake for my kids birthday party. I have not used them yet, I will update this when I do. They did not come with any instructions which another reviewer also stated so I did some searching and this is what I found.
6" pan - 4 cups batter
8" pan - 7 cups batter
10" pan - 11 cups batter
12" pan - 15 3/4 cups batter
I hope this helps.

For those of you like me who use cake batter by the lb and oz verses using cups, here is about how much batter you would use for that. *PLEASE NOTE* This is the amount of batter for cakes that are normal butter/fat cakes (and some chiffon cakes) NOT for cakes such as angel food (ie: foam cakes). Hope this helps :)

6" pan: 8-10oz batter
8" pan: 14-18oz batter (14oz to 1lb 2oz)
10" pan: 24-28oz batter (1lb 8oz to 1lb 12oz)
12" pan: 32-40oz batter (2lb to 2lbs 8oz)

LOVE! I love this pan, it is huge! It takes alot of cake. I also like that you don't have to use every single once if you do not want to. Cake looks just as fun when only using 3 as it does using 4. Non stick coating really helps the cake come out of the pan easily.

Makes a really cute cake. Easy to use, but it does take longer to bake than normal cakes. It is wise to invest in heating cores for even cooking. Make sure to spray the pans really well and run a knife around the pan when it's done so it comes out in 1 piece. Some people questioned how many boxes of cake it takes if you use box mix. ..I used 1 box for the top, almost 2 for the middle, and almost 3 for the bottom (I didn't use the largest base pan, only did 3 layers).

I have only used these once. My cakes baked up very nicely, but you must put a metal nail at the bottom end of each pan or you can use the heating core. It takes a little. Ore batter than the regular round pans and takes a lot longer to bake. Mine turned out great!

Prior to purchasing these pans, I read a lot of negative reviews. The reviews that I read almost caused me not to buy the pan set. I received and used the pans and had no problems at all. I used 2-3 flower nails in the larger pans and reduced the oven temperature by 25 degrees to ensure that the cake would bake evenly. I also lined the pans with parchment paper and punched the flower nails in that before pouring the batter in. The nails acted as a heating core and with the parchment paper, they were super easy to remove. This process totally worked for me. I am very pleased with my purchase. Don't let the negative reviews influence your buying decision!

These pans are a good time savor for creating topsy turvy cakes. With these pans I only need to bake once - instead of baking multiple times due to the lack of multiple pans of the same size and limited space in my oven - and there is less time spent cutting as well. After these cool all I have to do is level the bottom, tort, and cut the level base for the lower layers. (instead of having to make additional cake layers to also cut in order to make the dramatic shape) I also like to use these because it gives me the perfect same angle slant across all of the cakes. All in all, I am very happy with my cake pans... I just wish they weren't so expensive.
