* UPDATE 10/21/14: Imposes FLURRY ANALYTICS on device to supposedly MONITOR your game play for help with fixes. However, after over 1 year of many users reporting Crashes, the Developer has not provided any FIXES via an update. STILL VER. 1.0.0 proves it.

Tiny Thief is a Fun and Challenging game but the main CHARACTER moves PAINFULLY SLOW!
Graphics are Cute and Funny at times. Music and Sound effects are decent and can be Muted but not adjusted.
Controls are just fair with Touch or Tap to Move character, Pick up items or Activate objects.
Theme is Cute. Figuring out needed Strategy and sequence of moves to complete each level can get difficult and sometimes Frustrating. HINTS are available by touching the Book icon on top right of screen but only 1 hint for every 4 hours of play (argh). Finding Hidden Objects can be hard since you have to feel your way through with no Instructions for each level. A Tutorial at start of game is OK but just pictures (No text).

Overall, it is OK but alternates from being Fun for a while and then Frustrating due to the following:

No written instructions makes the learning curve harder than it should be.
Controling character movement is not tremendously accurate, even on a 10" Tablet.
Movements are PAINFULLY SLOW so it affects your accuracy and you get killed often.
Finding and touching the TINY Ferrit that only appears very briefly in odd places is annoying!
Many users report CRASHES but Developer has done nothing to help them with this PAID APP!

NOTE: BE WARY of future Updates since ROVIO has a Reputation for updating apps with Tons of DATA-MINING Addons. I own all of ROVIO's previous games and every one had this TACTIC Spoil them so I DELETED THEM! It also seems to use up BATTERY quicker than most other apps.

Could be a decent game but needs improvements that Developer has not addressed after more than a year!

feel I must emphasize, in spite of all the rather silly assertions to the contrary, there is ZERO issues with the Permissions OR Code concerns in THIS game. Rovio does have a well deserved ill-repute, practices I have attacked without restraint, but I take game offerings as they are, and TINY THIEF is relatively clean (more on this later).

It's been a year since this game by ROVIO STARS, a sub-publication adjunct to ROVIO, has been out, and no "scary stuff" has been added, so I personally take that as an indicator that there won't ever be. In fact, I'd go as far to say that ROVIO STARS is almost a completely different animal... a five star past time. I frankly enjoyed it myself. :)

My impression is a kid-friendly Espionage Style game, like the METAL GEAR franchise and all the other sneak/hide style of games made popular on game consoles. The first five levels are tutorials of sorts, getting you used to the mechanics, and then it begins to slowly ramp up in difficulty once you get into the chapters proper. Sneak about, time your approaches and hiding spots not to get caught, manipulating various objects to steal from the rich to give to the poor. There is even "hidden object" subtheme as you try to find the bonus objectives: your pet ferret who pops his head and a hidden object for your treasure chest. It's all very well done with pleasant 2D graphics and sound effects.

Yes, the game itself isn't fast paced, but once again, the Espionage genre isn't fast paced (have you ever spent 20 minutes with Solid Snake trying to get past the guards? lol).

I actually purchased this game over 1 year ago and I didn't play it long. It is a very simplistic game that tells you with signs and arrows where to move and what to do in every step. It is targeted at young children to perhaps teach them how to play video games and think through a strategy. Unfortunately if that is the intent of the app then it is teaching them to steal items from other people. Not really a good concept.

For adults I found the game to be slow and to easy with no real challenge. I gave it a 3 star rating. Children may love it.

Tiny Thief provided several hours of fun. The game play is simple: you click on various places on the screen to either move your character or interact with the environment. By figuring out what can be pressed and what the proper order is to press them, you can advance through the story. The graphics are cartoony - which is much easier to do right than trying to develop more realistic graphics (that are probably more demanding on your device's hardware anyways). There are comic panels interspersed between the levels that help tell the story. The hints are easy enough to figure out, but don't necessarily completely give away the solutions to the levels so that even if you use the hints you still feel some slight accomplishment. The only thing I didn't like about the game was in the second to last level where you had to tap the screen at the proper time (several times) to get full completion.
