Here's my review: I need a quiet fan for my living room, for whatever reason the people that built the house did not think to put a ceiling fan in the room that we use as a TV room and it tends to get hot in the summer. Circulating little air makes a big difference so I went online and did my homework. This fan was by far the highest rated available anywhere. There's one complaint... People claim that the metal grill around the fan blade tends to rust over time. I read the reviews and notice that most of people live in coastal areas, one even in Hawaii and was confused why metal would rust Even though he didn't live near saltwater? I'm thinking that this guy is confused on how that works. Here's the reality, all fan blades pass air fast over metal or plastic and no matter what their electro plated with, in time they will either corrode or rust unless you do one thing... Keep humidity out of the air. If you're running fans instead of an air conditioner I hate to say that this is going to happen to you too. If tomorrow Dyson comes out with a $10,000 fan it's still going to rust, without giving a lesson on chemistry just take my word for it. It's nothing to do with the fan or it's construction, it's the fact that humidity will rust the grill in time.
The reason that air conditioning is called "conditioning" is because it is removing humidity out of the air. That's why you have condensation and the need for a drain by your air handler. If you don't do this you still have high humidity and are just whizzing hot humid air through a fan, over metal, it's going to rust.
So now it's talk about the fan... This thing is insane, and by that I mean it's literally unbelievable. I paid $122 using Amazon as the fulfillment center (might be able to find it for less with a private seller) and it is so quiet and powerful that the same day I set up the fan I bought another one for my bedroom. It really is that impressive. I'm not going to drone on, if what I've already said hasn't convinced you to take a shot with this fan then read one of the other 2257 reviews and form your own opinion. The best part, this is a prime item... just take it out of the box carefully and if you don't absolutely love it, return it for free. You literally have nothing to lose except the discomfort of heat.
So what's the downside? Some buyers have reported that the grill rusts. I've only had mine for about a month, but I don't see anything that would make it susceptible to corrosion. That only leaves the cost, is it justified? There are lower cost alternatives available, doubtless adequate. The fan this one replaced was way cheaper, but it worked for at least 10 years. But for me--again, just an opinion--the extra cost is justified for the reasons above.
Three plus years and the review holds up. I opened the grill to clean it and the fan blade. Some reviews complained about grill corrosion, so I examined both grill halves carefully.
Nothing but a chrome-like shine--it looked like the day I unpacked it. Perhaps others confused the static dust that collects on fan parts, or maybe there were some sub-standard grill enclosures sold. But after three years of heavy use my unit works flawlessly.

THEY DON'T MAKE THEM LIKE THEY USE TO I CAN ASSURE YOU THAT!
YOU ALWAYS GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR!
WITH THIS FAN YOU GET MORE THAN YOU PAY FOR!
IT'S A VERY GOOD DESIGN, LARGE MOTOR, AND EASY TO USE CONTROLS!
IT'S SO USER FRIENDLY I DIDN'T EVEN HAVE TO READ ANYTHING!
I'TS PROBABLY ONE OF THE BEST IF NOT THE BEST HOUSEHOLD FANS YOU WILL EVER NEED FOR HOT SPELLS.
I BOUGHT IT FOR MY BEDROOM FOR THE "QUIET" MODE AND IT NEVER LET ME DOWN.
I DON'T EVEN HEAR IT WHEN I GO TO BED.
IT'S GOOD QUALITY AND I FEEL THAT IT WILL LAST!
I BOUGHT THE DESK MODEL FIRST, THEN I BOUGHT THIS ONE!
BOTH ARE VERY IMPRESSIVE!!!
It offers a Turbo boost that puts out a great deal of air flow and everything in between. The Remote is small and when unpacking the box, I almost missed it taped to cardboard. It requires a small 2032 battery that isn't supplied so best have one on hand during assembly.
It garners many 4 - 5 star reviews thus this is testimony to the quality of the product. It is overpriced for a regular purchase thus it is worth waiting for a sale that is under $100.00. Amazon have had $99.00 or less offerings for this fan.
*Update: Have owned this fan for nearly a year and cannot recommend more highly! No problems or issues and continues to blow my mind with how quiet it really is. I use regularly as I like to fall asleep with it on and haven’t had to replace the batteries in the remote yet!
Note - on Amazon there seems to be two different prices for the grey vs bronze color. Grey is listed slightly cheaper and it’s what I purchased however I was sent bronze. To me, the color makes no difference.
