Classic American style was born in British boathouses, where the very first blazers were fashioned for college rowing clubs. This book, created by champion rower Jack Carlson, offers an insider’s guide to the elaborately striped, piped, trimmed, and badged garments, as well as the stories, elite athletes, historic clubs, and races associated with them. Featuring lush photographs by “prep” guru F.E. Castleberry, Rowing Blazers is a definitive visual feast, transporting readers to the highly atmospheric boathouses, campuses, and team rooms of clubs around the world. For anyone who has raced the rivers or lined the banks, this handsome ode to the eye-catching, evocative rowing blazer is a must.

A great update to an iconic story

A great update to an iconic story
'Rowing Blazers: Revised and Expanded Edition' is not your grandfather’s guide to Ivy League style—unless your grandfather was notoriously stylish and slightly rebellious. This book is like a secret handshake into the world of preppy fashion, but with a twist—it's spiked with streetwear and irreverence that makes traditionalists do a double-take. Jack Carlson has somehow managed to row his way into the edgy side of prep, creating a sartorial splash that’s both respectful and cheeky. If you thought blazers were just for boardrooms and boat clubs, think again. They’re also for the bold, the brave, and those who like their tartan with a touch of swagger. Dive into this book for a riot of color, pattern, and the kind of fashion advice you might get from a particularly dapper pirate. Five stars for making me want to wear a blazer with my basketball shorts and somehow not feel ridiculous about it.

I have both Rowing Blazers books by Jack Carlson and not only do they look incredible next to one another, but the expanded version offers so much new material. Different photos, information, it's like an expanded universe of the OG Rowing Blazers that offers so many more clubs for 2024. It makes a great gift or a coffee table statement; it's bright and bold and fun to flip through with guests. Highly recommend and will be gifting to like-minded friends and family!

My cousin recently passed away. He's in this book. I loved that he's featured in this book for doing something he absolutely loved and identified with.

Shut up, I'm not crying, you're crying.
