About the Author
Tanya Bird is a writer/mum/Lego expert who lives in Melbourne, Australia. The road to author has been a convoluted one. Prior to three children and an accidental six year stint in media/advertising, Tanya studied professional writing and set about writing bad novels on a laptop she could not afford. There was a nagging problem – she needed to eat. Creative endeavours were put on hold as she went about making money. But writing is an illness and one can only numb the symptoms for so long before the words begin to decay inside of you. The Companion series is her first published series. The other manuscripts remain buried in the backyard alongside her deceased pets. Tanya can be followed on Facebook @TanyaBirdFreelanceWriter and tweets @TanyaBirdWriter. She blogs about writing (and off topic) at www.tanyabird.com/blog

There are 3 brothers in the Royal family. One is a bully and remains at the palace because he is unable to fight due to a lack of abilities. The other leads all the battles to protect his people. The third is young and untested. The Princess is a manipulative nasty person who denigrates everyone except her parents. The Companions are varied but all are taught courtesan technique for flattering the men and never having an opinion. The story is of a young war weary Prince given a Companion he didn't want and falling in love with her. She's from a farm, rides bareback on a fantastic horse, has no talents, and can't keep her opinions to herself. Epic love story worthy of Shakespeare's plays.
