I am pleased with this purchase from Amazon. I am listing the contents in the box as this wasn't in any other reviews, neither the product list and it may be helpful to others:
12 tubes - black, white, burnt sienna, burnt umber, yellow ochre, lemon yellow, crimson red lake, vermilion, violet, prussian blue, deep green, sap green. Royal & Langnickel Brushes, 1/2 Wash, 3/4 shader, Round 2,4,6,8,10 #1 script liner, Mop 3/4 and 1/2, aqua-flo brush, eraser, palette knife, palette, pencil, stylus, apron. The brush holder actual stands so it is great to just grab and go. The apron has little pockets to hold the brushes. For the price, this is a great buy - perfect to brush up on my watercolour paintings. The box was easy to open - you have to remove the paper first.

I bought this set for my mom on last Mother's day. Painting has been her major hobbie for a few years. Before this set, she used pencil watercolor. I always complained that the colors were not so vivid. I went out and bought this set for her. After she started using it, I have to say her paintings now come to live. The colors are now so smooth and bright. The brush set also adds more varieties for her to use different techniques with her paintings. Other accessories are also useful. The box holds everything together so she won't lose it anymore. For the price, I think it's worth every penny, not to mention making her feel more confident in her works.

After taking up drawing recently, this is exactly the kind of sketching set I was looking for, which includes over 50 tools.

Here is a full list of what is found inside the box:

- 12 Graphite Pencils
- 12 Compressed Color Lead Sticks
- 6 Compressed Lead Sticks
- 6 Compressed Charcoal Sticks
- 4 Pastel Pencils
- 4 Vine Charcoals
- 3 Blending Stumps
- 3 Charcoal Pencils
- 2 Erasers (1 White, 1 Kneaded)
- 1 Sharpener
- 1 Ruler (6")
- 1 Sandpaper Block
- 1 Mannequin (just over 6" on its stand)
- 1 5x7 Sketching Pad (about a dozen pages)

Although the plastic insert is just as cheap as the reviewers said it would be, the particular wooden box that I
received is well-built and durable. I guess I am one of the luckier ones!

The only problems I had were sharpening the soft charcoal pencil (its point would break each time) and putting the mannequin
in its holder. (The hole seemed too shallow.) However, for the price I paid, I feel like I got a great deal.

I purchased this product to get some basic art supplies when I took up drawing. The supplies have all worked well, but the case was not very durable, and actually was falling apart in places. A little glue corrected the problem.

This set has everything I have needed to get started learning to paint with watercolors except for paper and an easel. There is a good variety of brushes and a wide enough variety of colors to learn the basics. The mop brushes tend to lose fibers (annoying) but the other brushes are holding up well. The case keeps everything neat and organized and out of the way - important for me because I don't have a dedicated painting space. This is a great set for getting started!

I have been a self-proclaimed artist for some time now, and have used every brand imaginable. My sister recently got me this kit as a gift and I couldn't be happier. Royal & Langnickel brushes are top quality, well made with soft bristles and easy to use. The paint is great as well, and it seems like a great value for the money.

All the items in the box are wonderful. It is quite a good set for a beginner. It will supply the beginner with most everything they need.

The box was the main draw back for me. It's not very well made. The little plastic thing that the stuff is supposed to 'click' into doesn't hold the items very well. I kept trying to close it and had the items falling out of their slots and getting caught between other things.

The box had a crack around a knothole in the side. Looking at the paint job led me to believe that the knot hole had been ignored. No attempt at putting any wood putty around the knot hole or in the crack had been done. I'm not sure how the box would hold up to long term or heavy use.
