With it's bias-cut flounce and an attractive color palette to choose from, the Discovery Skirt makes a strong visual impression. Beneath that is a travel-friendly skirt made from Discovery Stretch Nylon, a quick-dry, lightweight blend of nylon and spandex with a cotton-like feel that resists wrinkles, has UPF 50+ protection, and great stretch.

Although I had to shimmy my hips a tad to get into the size 4, the waist fit better than the size 6, which was a little too loose. I ended up keeping the size 4. I LOVE this skirt. I have 3 colors.
When I went on vacation with my family I could carry my phone, lip gloss and cash all in different very secure and roomy pockets while not feeling like a rumpled tourist. SUPER cute!!
One thing to be aware of however, is that the sizes run BIG! I had to return them several times to get them to fit right. I'm 5'3" and plump-ish and based on their size chart I ordered a 12, which ended up being way to big for me, as was the 10. The eight fit well, and fell just below my knee cap.
Update Feb 2015: Three years later and I still love these skirts! They look like they did when I bought them. All the positives I said about them in my earlier review still apply. I've had no trouble with shrinking or fading or anything else. I don't put them in the dryer because they dry so fast I just hang them up to dry, so maybe that's why they've held up so well- not sure about that, but whatever the reason, these skirts are great!
I'm 5'8" and weigh approx 155 and my height is in my legs... The skirt falls right above the knee, a good length.
5'8 and 175 lbs ordered size 10. My extra weight is on my waist rather than hips.
First, as others have noted, it runs large - I know my measurements and consulted the Royal Robbins size chart before purchasing, and I would estimate this runs a full size too large. Because it's essentially waistband-less, it still works a bit large if you don't mind it riding lower on your hips, but if that does bother you, I suggest sizing down. I think inconsistent sizing may be typical of RRs; I recently tried on an armful of things in the same size at my local REI and found them to be a mix of too large/too small/just right.
I'm marking it down star-wise for another reason, though. Two of the three skirts had wrinkling where the zipper was put in - if the "Slate" color is still available above, select it and look at the back view to see what I mean. I generally wear my shirts and sweaters on the outside, so this doesn't particularly matter, but it irritated me to pay full price for such a noticeable flaw. I had thought perhaps the ones I received were flukes, but since a photo showing the problem is actually featured here, I guess not.
Otherwise, it is a cute and wearable skirt that travels well and looks nice dressed either up or down - but buyer beware.

They do run large. I had to exchange a 6 for a size 4, and it is still a bit loose.Read more
One thing that I don't like is that the skirt moves while walking.
