The Automatic Shut-Off feature prevents the machine from overheating, as the cooling plate and fan cools down the thermal pouch film as it exits the laminator. Once you are done laminating and shut off the unit, the Automatic Cooling System will continue to turn the rollers, thus cooling the machine down and extending the product life span.

The APL-330U utilizes a quality and reliable 4-roller system that provides professional and clean lamination finishes with no bubbling, wrinkling, curling, and hazing. It is also capable of laminating hot heat sealed or cold self adhesive lamination film 3-7 mil thick. No need to worry about jammed or misfed documents, as the auto and manual reverse function will assist users in the recovery of laminated materials. The laminator also boasts easy operation controls, with a 1 button temperature control interface and a blinking power light will glow steady to signify that the laminator is warm enough to begin lamination. Automatic shut off provides energy saving benefit and additional safety. Cooling plate and fan cools down thermal laminating pouches as it exits the laminator. Automatic cooling system will continue to turn rollers after shut off to cool down the rollers, extending product life span.

I tried to save five cents of laminate, and got it caught in my old machine. My husband took the cover off and a few screws, and the laminate came right out, but now does not seem to be heating on the 3ml setting. It did still seal the thin paper I sent through, but came out of machine very cool. It still works and I will try on the 5ml setting next time. However, we have had this machine for about 5 years and my daughter is a kindergarten teacher, so we laminate A LOT. That's why I was very pleased to see Amazon had a few machines left, even tho it's been discontinued! Sturdy machine!

This is my second royal soverign laminator. The first one lasted about fifteen years. These are great machines for every day professional use. The only negative (in my opinion): if the motor fails, royal soverign won't sell a replacement. You have to send it back for replacement at a cost of fifty bucks plus shipping. I found a replacement for around ten dollars. It has similar specs but the shaft had to be modified and the laminator wouldn't go in reverse. But, for a ten dollar back up, it still works.

I have purchased this laminator before, several years ago. I used it quite a bit as an aide in an elementary school. I finally gave it to my daughter-in-law, thinking she would get more use out of it . I did not have a laminator for a few years, and really missed having one, so I purchased a new one. It is easy to use and does a great job laminating.

I have had this laminator for several months now and I just want to reiterate my positive review of his product. I have used multiple sized laminating sleeves on this laminator to laminate pictures, important documents, flash cards, memory aids that I want to take into the shower so I can be productive during that time, various crafts for my wife and the list goes on and on. Not one of them has jammed or had bubbles in the middle. It seems a little expensive at first, but one of my pet peeves is to buy a cheaper (often inferior product) to try and save money and then have to turn around and buy the more expensive one after several months because I find out that #1 I like the product and I find that I am using it often #2 my inferior product is flimsy and ends up breaking on me or it has slow capacity and I end up needing more features. But this is an industrial strength machine, it has high capacity, and it suits my needs perfectly.

I love this laminator! I've never owned one, but as of late, I've been frequently using the laminating services at various local retailers to have it done. It soon became expensive and inconvenient to have to wait for them to do it. So, I looked around to look for one that was durable, efficient, and evenly laminate various sized documents, pictures, flashcards etc...I love this machine and it allows me to protect my prized pictures and important documents. I noticed I laminate a whole lot more just because I am interested in protecting my stuff. This machine laminates evenly-absolutely no bubbles unless cat hair or something similar gets in there to cause the surface to rise. The roller speed is adjustable and I couldn't be happier with its durability. It is heavy and well constructed-there is nothing worse than lifting up a product and feel like it is cheaply made and it could fall apart if you put it down too hard. Like I said I've never owned one of these, but I know a good laminator when I use one and this is fantastic in my opinion.

Need Heavy Duty Laminator - Get This!!!

Got this for my son, he's a teacher. He does a lot of laminating for his class. With school budget cuts he had to paid for laminating services out of his own pocket. He's had this machine for 4 weeks and he's already gone through 120 lamination sheets without any problems. Its super quick, super sturdy. I would recommend this machine to anyone.
