Lady Sarah Titebottom, yes, that's her last name. Could you ever imagine growing up with a name like that? This is what I love in my books, things that make me smile, laugh and get those butterflies that the women experience. Sarah is shy and not very outgoing. But she catches the prince's eye and their story is one that tugged at my heart strings.
I don't want to give you any spoilers, I want you to pick this series up and enjoy it as much as I have. Emma Chase is one of my favorite authors to read and I'm sure she'll become one of your's too. I cannot wait for Logan's story. He's one of the royal security guard protecting Prince Nicholas.
If you’ve read Royally Screwed, this book continues the story but now with Henry (Nicholas’ brother) as the main character. Henry is not in a great place at the start of the book, his brother has found true love and abdicated the throne of Wesco. Now Henry is the new Crown Prince and future King, a title he definitely never thought he would have nor does he thinks he deserves. On top of that, Henry needs to find a future Queen.
Gosh, I love Henry, even weepy, depressed Henry is hilarious!
“The eighties are a sorely underrated decade in terms of musical composition. They don’t get nearly the respect they deserve. I try to use my platform in the world to bring attention to this travesty by singing eighties ballads whenever I get the chance. Like right now, as I sing “What About Me” by Moving Pictures on the karaoke stage. It was their one-hit wonder and a soul-stirring exercise in self-pity. My eyes are closed as I belt out the lyrics and sway behind the microphone.”
Henry has always being portrayed by the media as a playboy Prince, which is sorta true, but underneath he’s more of a sensitive bohemian. He is approached by a producer to be the star of a dating reality show. After much thought, Henry decides that it would be a great idea because he could potentially sleep with a few women and have fun. Well, he’s in for a big surprise.
Now, I know many people would be turned off by the idea of book about a reality show. This is far from it, I would say that the reality show aspect is more of a backdrop. Plus, since they need to find women suitable to be Queen, virginity is an issue so sex is actually off the table in the show. So, rest assure Henry is not sleeping with these other women. The real relationship is happening behind the scenes! Enter Lady Sarah Titebottum.
Sara was shy, reserved and a lover of literature. She’s not a contestant on the show but is there to accompany her sister who is a contestant. Sara is such a sweet character. I totally loved her references to literature and her overall outlook in life.
“There are meetings in books that stand out, that alter the course of the story. Profound encounters between characters when one soul seems to say to the other, “There you are—I’ve been looking for you.””
“Henry Pembrook isn’t a Fiyero—he’s a Willoughby. A John Willoughby from Sense and Sensibility—thrilling, charming, unpredictable, and seductive. Marianne Dashwood learned the hard way that if you play with a heartbreaker, you can’t be surprised when your heart gets shattered into a thousand pieces.”
Henry is immediately drawn to Sara, to her vulnerability and sensitive soul, and they form a strong friendship that eventually develops into something else. This story is super sweet, and the romance is slow burning.
“What a strange pair we are. The sad boy and the frightened girl.”
It’s also super funny. Their banter at times is hilarious!
The book is also super romantic and hot at times.
““I’m sick of being afraid, Henry. And I’m so tired of being alive . . . but not really living. I want this; I’ve wanted it for a long time. I want . . . you.””
“Anything that came before is nothing. This is all that matters. This brave, stunning girl in my arms is all I will ever need.”
“Then what if he just stood in front of her and said, ‘I’m sorry. And I miss you. I want to be a better man for you and because I love you so much, I actually believe I can be.’ Do you think she’d give him a chance then?”
“I want to change the world with you at my side, holding your hand. I love you, Sarah, and whatever happens, I promise there won’t be a day that I don’t love you with all that I am.”
Overall, I loved this book a lot. It was a great sequel to another great book. Like all other Emma Chase books I’ve read this was sweet, fun and hot. She’s definitely one of my favorite authors and I can’t wait for whatever she comes up with next. I absolutely recommend Royally Matched. And if you haven’t read Royally Screwed you need to pick it up too!
