Birds attacking vehicle mirrors.
1. Covering mirrors with bags: Wind blew them off.
2. Tinting mirrors with static cling 5% tint: Lots of work, and the birds just started attacking the tinted windows.
3. Purchased pellet gun for $150: I was completely outnumbered and ineffective. Fun though.
Finally, after several people had suggested it, I put three of these snakes on my truck. One on each running board, and one velcro'ed to the rear windshield wiper.
Birds have left and haven't even looked at my truck in over 2 weeks.
I placed a couple poisonous snake replicas on our front wall by the garage - Safari LTD Incredible Creatures Sidewinder Rattlesnake and Safari Incredible Creatures: Cottonmouth Water Mocassin. A 12 count package these plastic rainforest snakes included plenty to intertwine in the nearby chain link where the birds liked to roost leaving their poo all over our patio. I had so many extra that I intertwined some along the top of our dog kennel, high out of reach of the dogs which has completely ended the birds dropping poo into their food and water bowls. These snakes are very flexible- it was easy to intertwine into the fence and kennel panels.
We still feed the birds and a number of them nest in our multiple bird houses so they still eat plenty of insects for us simply now the birds stay out in the yard and *away* from our house and vehicles.
These snakes have remained outside in direct sunlight in 100+ degree weather as well as many bitterly cold days without becoming brittle nor fading.
I rate these snakes as 5 stars for durability and 5 stars for being realistic enough to keep the birds away. No more bird poo on our vehicles, either! Another plus!
I am happy to report, that these snakes can hold up to a pounding. When Smokie played with the first snake which I hid under some bubble wrap, he pounced on that snake, both beefy paws on the snake and tried to rip the tongue off the snake first, with no success he was gnawing on the head and the snake held together. He has had the same snake for several weeks and it has not fallen apart nor has it flaked away any residual color. He constantly smashes his claws into the snake, tosses them into the air and chews on them without much damage to the snake. I inspect it carefully every other day, and so far, Smokie's new fav toy is holding up.

The snakes might be 14" if you stretch them out but I was expecting 14" as they are shown in the picture on amazon. Very disappointed.Published 5 days ago by C. Pisut
They're cute but I don't think it scares the birds away because they are still eating my tomatoes and peppers. You just have to pick your veggies a couple of days early. Read morePublished 5 days ago by Regina O'NEIL
by no means are they 14 inches long, more like maybe 8, unsatisfied!Published 7 days ago by Amazon Customer

I never thought these would work as well as they did . The birds have stopped nesting where I placed them. No more nest mess and no more bird poop on my deck!Published 11 days ago by Attilio Figliozzi
I purchased these to scare away the birds from my balcony!
They did the trick, just move the snakes around everyday to make the birds think its real.
i got these to deter the birds from my deck...seems to work better than the owl. i move them every week to make sure the birds don't get used to them.Published 23 days ago by Dala Griffeth
