Product Description

The Rubbermaid FG748018 WaveBrake side press combo high-performance mopping system has a 26-quart (24.6 L) bucket with molded-in wave baffles to reduce splashing, graduated marks for measuring contents, and a side press wringer, tested to exceed 50,000 wringing cycles, that includes a tubular steel arm with a contoured handle for better grip. The bucket and wringer are made from yellow structural web-molded plastic for better strength-to-weight ratio than standard injection-molded plastic. This system can help earn Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) credits. This mopping system is suitable for commercial and industrial applications. The bucket rolls on four non-marking casters for mobility, and has a metal wire handle to facilitate lifting and emptying.

Combination mop bucket and wringer systems, also called combo mopping systems, consist of a bucket with a wringer (usually removable) that connects to the side or top so that water wrung out of a mop will drain into the bucket. The bucket often has casters for mobility. The wringer can be a simple strainer, used by pushing a wet mop against its walls, or it can have a mechanism operated by an arm that squeezes water out of a wet mop by forcing it against a strainer.

Rubbermaid manufactures cleaning, organizing, and material handling products for commercial, medical, and industrial applications. The company, founded in 1933, is headquartered in Huntersville, NC.

I have a lot of tiled floor and nothing works as well as the good old mop. I've tried various floor wipes and steamers, but I'm always going back to the mop. So I decided to pick up something industrial that I used at a fast food resturant in my younger years. This definately fit the bill. You have plently of water/cleaner with you to clean a wide area without refreshing the water. I pull this out once a week and my floors haven't looked cleaner.

I wanted a mop bucket that was easy to use, durable, and not to big and cumbersome to move about the house. This product is exactly what I wanted. I use it to mop a fairly small kitchen that has tile floor, also I use it to mop a living room and dining room that has hardwood floors. It works great, really easy to use and saves the hands and back. At 26 quarts, its carries enough water to get the job done and its not to big and bulky. The wringer is strong and durable ,that is, you can really feel the power of it when wringing out the mop. Overall this mop bucket is good for residential cleaning. Only one thing I would like to mention which is as noted in the previous review, you need the right sized mop. If your mop is to small, it won't do a good job of wringing. My suggestion is to get a Rubbermaid mop that way your covered.

The Rubbermaid Yellow 26 quart mop pail and wringer is heavy duty commercial equipment. The mop and wringer are mostly plastic, but it's very thick and tough. I've often see this product in use at airports and other commercial buildings.

You can visualize a residence where this equipment is convenient to use. For example, imagine rolling the bucket (with the mop and wringer still in it) onto a back patio (without having to maneuver it over the lower channel of a sliding door). The patio has a smooth surface, no flaking concrete. You roll the bucket to the edge and dump the dirty water on the lawn. You pick up a convenient garden hose and refill the bucket. When you are finished mopping, you roll the bucket into a spacious closet that has room for its approximately 16 inch by 27 inch footprint (with the wringer in place) and accommodates the 36 inch span from the floor to the top of the wringer handle.

The residential user needs to buy industrial sized mop heads. The small mop heads sold at grocery stores won't work with this product. The mop wringer lets you exert plenty of force, but the jaws of the wringer stop when they are over an inch apart, so the wringer won't squeeze out a small mop. Wet industrial sized mops are noticeably heavier than residential sized mops and they are overkill for small mopping jobs.

If you didn't arrange your dwelling with the thought of commercial mopping in mind, you can contemplate the following. Perhaps you will refill the mop bucket using the sprayer on the kitchen sink and stand there for several minutes while a fine mist of water gets other things in the kitchen wet. Or perhaps you're the rough-and-ready type who will put the bucket in the shower or the bath tub.

Using this product gave me a flashback to my early days as a young Marine mopping the barracks. Based on my previous professional experience, I would rate this product as the very best!!! Though CEO of a major company today, some things remain unchanged. Mopping and basic chores are pleasant diversions.

i like this mop but i dont think it works well with quickie mops it takes a bigger mop
the plates in this mop bucket dont squeeze all the way together so it can not squeeze the water out in smaller mops
i need a mop that is about 2 inches across maybe one of them big professional industrial size mops with lots of yarn
or other obsorbant material i wish the plates in this mop will come closer but it has a strip of plastic that prevents the mop from beings squeezed real well when smaller mops are used there is a big gap between the plates when they come together i wish that plastic strip was not there and the plates can come closer together
i iwll have to buy another mop for this mop bucket it is very well constructed and made of such sturdy plastic and not glued together iam happy with the sturdiness and its more durable then the other wringer mop bucket by rubber maid

I love the style and stability of the mop bucket and wheels.
The ringers always break down on us.
We use it in the restaurant and it gets used often.
We used to get about one to three years of life out of Rubbermaid ringers.\
Now I go through about 5 to 6 a year.
This one is better than the last ones I got. It lasted a little over a month before the plastic started to crack.

I have sent in complaints and have yet to here back anything on it.
Time to shop for a different brand I guess.
Any suggestion on better ringers??

This one is not going to be the least expensive - but it is solid and sturdy and built really well. Tried some others that cost less, but they all had issues - such as tiny casters that crapped out too fast, or construction so flimsy that it flexed every time we tried to wring out the mop. We use this at our church - does the job and does it well.
